Abstract: Trillions of network packets are sent over the Internet to destinations which do not exist. This ‘darknet’ traffic captures the activity of botnets and other malicious campaigns aiming to discover and compromise devices around the world. In this paper, we present DANTE: a framework and algorithm for mining darknet traffic. DANTE learns the meaning of targeted network ports by applying Word2Vec to observed port sequences. To detect recurring behaviors and new emerging threats, DANTE uses a novel and incremental time-series cluster tracking algorithm on the observed sequences. To evaluate the system, we ran DANTE on a full year of darknet traffic (over three Tera-Bytes) collected by the largest telecommunications provider in Europe, Deutsche Telekom and analyzed the results. DANTE discovered 1,177 new emerging threats and was able to track malicious campaigns over time.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for administering the authorization of at least one mobile telephone (5) relative to a mobile communications network (8), wherein the mobile telephone (5) is design for near-field communication (7) and in case a mobile radio card (6) is not present in the mobile telephone (5), the authorization thereof takes place by an external device (1) having one or more mobile radio card(s) (10) and a device (3) for near-field communication (7) with said mobile telephone (5), and wherein near-field communication (7) takes place between the external device (1) and the mobile telephone (5) for authorizing, and a connection is permitted to be established to the mobile communications network (8) after successful authorization by the external device (5).

Abstract: Bei einem Verfahren zur Ermittlung von Gebuhren fur die Nutzung von Verkehrswegen durch Fahrzeuge wird die geographische Position eines Fahrzeugs laufend mit Hilfe von Funkortung ermittelt und mit geographischen Positionen von virtuellen Erhebungsstellen verglichen. Die virtuellen Erhebungsstellen werden dabei von Erfassungsabschnitten gebildet, die sich uber vorgegebene Langen in Richtung des jeweiligen Verkehrsweges erstrecken.

Abstract: Videotelephony over IP (Internet Protocol) is one of the promising applications which is broadly used in the next-generation network (NGN). To design and assess the quality of experience (QoE), a parametric opinion model for video-telephony applications standardized in ITU-T Rec. G.1070 has been developed to predict the multimedia (speech and video) quality both in a passive and an interactive context. This model defines a multimedia quality integration function which depends on a speech score given by the E-model and a video score predicted by a video quality estimation function. This last function has been validated through subjective experiments for different video codecs and image formats. We present here a new analysis of the video quality estimation function with respect to the influence of the video codec on the basis of a subjective test and propose for the first time a set of parameters for the MPEG2 codec in order to extend the use of the G.1070 model.
