TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed 3D elastic numerical simulations on artificial unit cells in the frame of periodic homogenization and found that describing foam concrete as a porous material is not sufficient to explain the experimental measurements of the Young modulus for added porosity higher than 40%.

TL;DR: The authors used the three-stage least squares method to examine a sample of 132 countries observed over the 1980-2014 period and proved that financial development does not improve the situation of the poor, while the effect of institution quality on poverty and financial development depends on the choice of indicators.
Abstract: This paper tests the relationship between financial development, quality of institutions and poverty. To this end, we reviewed the literature and selected indicators of poverty, financial development and quality of institutions. Empirically, we used the three-stage least squares method to examine a sample of 132 countries observed over the 1980–2014 period. First, we proved that financial development does not improve the situation of the poor, while the effect of institution quality on poverty and financial development depends on the choice of indicators. Our robustness analysis pointed to the sensitivity of our results to the different financial development, quality of institutions and poverty indicators.

TL;DR: SDI can be included as an effective option for tomato production in Tunisia under saline conditions, particularly for Rio Tinto and Nemador, being Rio Grande the more adapted.
Abstract: A field experiment on the effects of drip irrigation (DI) and subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) with saline water (6.57 dS m -1 ) on three tomato cultivars (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill., cvs. Rio Tinto, Rio Grande and Nemador) was carried out with the purpose to quantify physiological responses. The aim was to improve irrigation water management under saline conditions of Tunisia. The trial was established in a siltclayey soil with three regimes of irrigation: 100 %, 85 % and 70 % of crop water requirement. Results evidenced a significant difference between the two irrigation systems for the three cultivars. Growth parameters such as leaf area, chlorophyll content and mineral composition of leaves, petioles, stems and roots were affected significantly by the different treatments, particularly for Rio Tinto and Nemador, being Rio Grande the more adapted. The fruit was the organ less affected. Strong accumulation of Na + and Cl - accompanied a reduction in Ca 2+ , K + , Mg 2+ and P content in the case of DI. The distribution of these last necessary elements for plants nutrition under a strong accumulation of Na + and Cl - depends on the cultivar and changes from one organ to another. SDI can be included as an effective option for tomato production in Tunisia.

TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between domestic investment and economic growth in Malaysia was investigated by using Correlation analysis, Johansen co-integration analysis of Vector Error Correction Model and Granger-Causality tests.
Abstract: This paper investigates the relationship between domestic investment and economic growth in Malaysia In order to achieve this purpose, annual data for the periods between 1960 and 2015 was tested by using Correlation analysis, Johansen co-integration analysis of Vector Error Correction Model and the Granger-Causality tests According to the result of the analysis, it was determined that there is a positive effect of domestic investment, exports and labors on economic growth in the long run term, however, there is no relationship between domestic investment and economic growth in the short run term These results provide en evidence that domestic investment, exports and labors are seen as a source of economic growth in Malaysia

TL;DR: In this article, a Lyapunov functional was introduced for perturbations for the semilinear wave equation with critical power nonlinearity, and a two-step argument based on interpolation and a critical Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequality was established that the blow-up rate of any singular solution is given by the solution of the nonperturbed associated ODE, specifically u″ = up.
Abstract: We study a class of perturbations for the semilinear wave equation with critical power nonlinearity (in the conformal transform sense). Working in the framework of similarity variables, we introduce a Lyapunov functional for this problem. Using a two-step argument based on interpolation and a critical Gagliardo–Nirenberg inequality, we establish that the blow-up rate of any singular solution is given by the solution of the nonperturbed associated ODE, specifically u″ = up.
