Kinetic modeling on drug release from controlled drug delivery systems.
TL;DR: The mathematical modeling can ultimately help to optimize the design of a therapeutic device to yield information on the efficacy of various release models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fluorescent Sensors for Measuring Metal Ions in Living Systems
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary phenolics: chemistry, bioavailability and effects on health.
TL;DR: This review summarizes the chemistry, biosynthesis and occurrence of the compounds involved, namely the C6-C3-C6 flavonoids-anthocyanins, dihydrochalcones, Flavan-3-ols, flavanones, flavones, Flavonols and isoflavones, and the mechanisms underlying these processes are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Amide bond formation: beyond the myth of coupling reagents
Eric Valeur,Mark Bradley +1 more
TL;DR: This critical review is focussed on the most recently developed coupling reagents with particular attention paid to the pros and cons of the plethora of "acronym" based reagents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Facile Discrimination of Aldose Enantiomers by Reversed-Phase HPLC
TL;DR: The reaction was applied to the determination of absolute configuration the sugar residues of an aroma precursor and direct HPLC analysis of the reaction mixture and UV detection at 250 nm discriminated D- and L-enantiomers of aldoses.

New sesquiterpene hydroquinones from the Caribbean sponge Aka coralliphagum
Qun Göthel,Matthias Köck +1 more
TL;DR: Four new sulfated sesquiterpene hydroquinones siphonodictyals E1–E4 (1–4) and cyclosiphonodICTyol A (5) were isolated from a sample of the Caribbean sponge Aka coralliphagum collected off the coast of San Salvador in the Bahamas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formosins A-F: Diterpenoids with Anti-microbial Activities from Excoecaria formosana.
TL;DR: Three new halimane-type diterpenoids formosins A–C (1–3), and three clerodane- type diter penoidsformosins D–F (4–6), were isolated from the twigs of Excoecaria formosana and showed moderate anti-microbial activities against Bacillus subtilis and Helicobacter pylori.
Journal ArticleDOI
Induction of various mutations during PCRs with manganese and 8-hydroxy-dGTP.
TL;DR: To induce various mutations randomly, PCRs with Mn2+ and with a mutagenic deoxyribonucleotide, 8-hydroxy-dGTP, were performed and suggest that this strategy will be useful in random PCR mutagenesis for the in vitro evolution of nucleic acids and proteins, and for analyses of residues in these biomolecules.
Journal ArticleDOI
Solution-phase automated synthesis of an α-amino aldehyde as a versatile intermediate
TL;DR: A solution-phase automated synthesis of the versatile synthetic intermediate, Garner's aldehyde, was demonstrated and tert-Butoxycarbonyl (Boc) protection, acetal formation, and reduction of the ester to the corresponding alde Hyde were performed utilizing the originally developed automated synthesizer, ChemKonzert.
Journal ArticleDOI
Towards stereochemical control: A short formal enantioselective total synthesis of pumiliotoxins 251D and 237A.
TL;DR: An efficient ring closure procedure consisting of ozonolysis and reductive dehydroxylation provided the indolizidine derivative 5, which completed the formal enantioselective total synthesis of pumiliotoxins 251D and 237A.
