This paper showed that under forecasted changes in temperature and precipitation, there could be a decline of economically valuable species, which would lead to a loss in the value of European forest land.
Abstract
European forests are threatened by climate change with impacts on the distribution of tree species. Previous discussions on the consequences of biome shifts have concentrated only on ecological issues; however, research now shows that under forecasted changes in temperature and precipitation there could be a decline of economically valuable species, which would lead to a loss in the value of European forest land.

Temporal and spatial high-resolution climate data from 1961 to 2100 for the German National Forest Inventory (NFI)

TL;DR: The NFI 2012 environmental data base climate is part of the environmental database of the German National Forest Inventory and contains climate information for 26,450 inventory points generated from gridded daily climate data for 1961-2100 at a spatial resolution of 250 m as discussed by the authors.

Multi-decade patterns of gypsy moth fluctuations in the Carpathian Mountains and options for outbreak forecasting

TL;DR: Outbreak forecasts based on combined use of the Fourier Transform and ARFIMA approaches showed that outbreak predictability differs among the countries, and an increase in outbreak areas was forecasted mainly in the central part of the region.

Economic consequences of altered survival of mixed or pure Norway spruce under a dryer and warmer climate

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use climate-sensitive survival probabilities to account for natural risk of tree mortality, as well as risk of fluctuating timber prices, to assess the financial performance of spruce and beech stands, pure and mixed.

The Role of Remote Sensing for the Assessment and Monitoring of Forest Health: A Systematic Evidence Synthesis

TL;DR: This review paper found that the number of papers addressing forest health issues applying remote sensing techniques have consistently increased, that most of the studies placed their study area in North America and Europe and that satellite-borne multispectral sensors are the most commonly used technology, especially from Landsat mission.

Climate change 2007 : impacts, adaptation and vulnerability

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a cross-chapter case study on climate change and sustainability in natural and managed systems and assess key vulnerabilities and the risk from climate change, and assess adaptation practices, options, constraints and capacity.
