TLDR
This paper showed that under forecasted changes in temperature and precipitation, there could be a decline of economically valuable species, which would lead to a loss in the value of European forest land.Abstract:
European forests are threatened by climate change with impacts on the distribution of tree species. Previous discussions on the consequences of biome shifts have concentrated only on ecological issues; however, research now shows that under forecasted changes in temperature and precipitation there could be a decline of economically valuable species, which would lead to a loss in the value of European forest land.read more

A catalogue of putative unique transcripts from Douglas-fir ( Pseudotsuga menziesii ) based on 454 transcriptome sequencing of genetically diverse, drought stressed seedlings
TL;DR: This study represents a first step towards characterizing the Douglas-fir transcriptome based on 454 sequencing of twelve cDNA libraries and established a catalogue of PUTs and large SNP database for Douglas- fir.

Drought Stress and the Recovery from Xylem Embolism in Woody Plants
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors review current evidence of embolism repair, highlighting possible physiological mechanisms and suggesting some functional and anatomical determinants making embolisms reversal a feasible and successful drought resilience mechanism in some plants.

Global climate change impacts on forests and markets
Brent Sohngen,Xiaohui Tian +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined how foresters have adapted to important supply and demand driven shocks in the last century that affected timber prices and forest investments, and showed that many of the adaptations that foresters made to changing economic conditions will be the same adaptations that society will need foresters to make in the future in order to adapt to climate change.
