TLDR
There is substantial evidence that ICIs are associated with a small but significant increase in risk of selected all-grade irAEs and high-grade gastrointestinal and liver toxicities, and AEs should be recognized promptly as early interventions may alleviate future complications.

The Occurrence of Encephalitis Due to Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors: A Pharmacovigilance Study

TL;DR: It was showed that encephalitis occurs more frequently for atezolizumab, pembrolizumAB, nivolumab and ipilimumab compared with the frequency for other drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incidence of Elevated Aminotransferases With or Without Bilirubin Elevation During Treatment With Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors: A Retrospective Study of Patients From Community Oncology Clinics in the United States

TL;DR: Real-world data from oncology clinics in US suggest low incidence of grade ≥ 3 elevated aminotransferase levels with or without bilirubin elevation following treatment with ICIs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rethinking the management of immune checkpoint inhibitor-related adrenal insufficiency in cancer patients during the COVID-19 pandemic

TL;DR: In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitor use to treat multiple cancers has increased in oncology, but equally has raised the question of whether ICI therapy and its side‐effects is harmful or beneficial during this pandemic.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meta-Analysis of Efficacy From CTLA-4 and PD-1/PD-L1 Inhibitors in Cancer Patients

TL;DR: The meta-analysis suggested that ICIs were associated with obvious improvements in PFS and OS compared with non-ICI therapies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytomegalovirus pneumonia complicating immune checkpoint inhibitors-induced pneumonitis: A case report.

TL;DR: A 63-year-old man was hospitalized for immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) medicated pneumonitis, secondary to treatment with pembrolizumab for non-small cell lung cancer as discussed by the authors.

Bias in meta-analysis detected by a simple, graphical test

TL;DR: Funnel plots, plots of the trials' effect estimates against sample size, are skewed and asymmetrical in the presence of publication bias and other biases Funnel plot asymmetry, measured by regression analysis, predicts discordance of results when meta-analyses are compared with single large trials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meta-Analysis in Clinical Trials*

TL;DR: This paper examines eight published reviews each reporting results from several related trials in order to evaluate the efficacy of a certain treatment for a specified medical condition and suggests a simple noniterative procedure for characterizing the distribution of treatment effects in a series of studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Operating characteristics of a rank correlation test for publication bias.

TL;DR: In this paper, an adjusted rank correlation test is proposed as a technique for identifying publication bias in a meta-analysis, and its operating characteristics are evaluated via simulations, and the test statistic is a direct statistical analogue of the popular funnel-graph.
