Comprehensive Meta-analysis of Key Immune-Related Adverse Events from CTLA-4 and PD-1/PD-L1 Inhibitors in Cancer Patients

TLDR
There is substantial evidence that ICIs are associated with a small but significant increase in risk of selected all-grade irAEs and high-grade gastrointestinal and liver toxicities, and AEs should be recognized promptly as early interventions may alleviate future complications.

Immune checkpoint inhibitor induced colitis: A nationwide population-based study.

TL;DR: In this article, an epidemiological survey of patients who develop immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-induced colitis and identify underlying risk factors was performed using Explorys, a US-based population database.

Pembrolizumab Induced Acute Persistent Airway Disease in a Patient with Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis (RRP).

TL;DR: In this paper, a 43-year-old woman with underlying asthma developed acute hypoxic respiratory failure within 24 hours of her third infusion of pembrolizumab for treatment of intractable, disseminated recurrent respiratory papillomatosis.

Neuromuscular weakness syndromes from immune checkpoint inhibitors: A case series and literature review

TL;DR: Five patients with nonmelanoma cancers who developed weakness after receiving CPIs are reported, highlighting the challenges in the diagnosis and management of neurologic adverse events related to the use of CPIs and the crucial need for early recognition, proper workup, and better biomarkers to help improve the outcomes of these adverse events.

Organ Dysfunction in Patients with Advanced Melanoma Treated with Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors

TL;DR: It is confirmed that patients with advanced melanoma and baseline renal or hepatic dysfunction are being treated with ICI therapy more frequently as monotherapy than in combination therapy, and emergent renal and hepaticfunction are both more common in patients treated with combination versus ICI monotherapy.

Bias in meta-analysis detected by a simple, graphical test

TL;DR: Funnel plots, plots of the trials' effect estimates against sample size, are skewed and asymmetrical in the presence of publication bias and other biases Funnel plot asymmetry, measured by regression analysis, predicts discordance of results when meta-analyses are compared with single large trials.

Meta-Analysis in Clinical Trials*

TL;DR: This paper examines eight published reviews each reporting results from several related trials in order to evaluate the efficacy of a certain treatment for a specified medical condition and suggests a simple noniterative procedure for characterizing the distribution of treatment effects in a series of studies.

Operating characteristics of a rank correlation test for publication bias.

TL;DR: In this paper, an adjusted rank correlation test is proposed as a technique for identifying publication bias in a meta-analysis, and its operating characteristics are evaluated via simulations, and the test statistic is a direct statistical analogue of the popular funnel-graph.
