Comprehensive Meta-analysis of Key Immune-Related Adverse Events from CTLA-4 and PD-1/PD-L1 Inhibitors in Cancer Patients

TLDR
There is substantial evidence that ICIs are associated with a small but significant increase in risk of selected all-grade irAEs and high-grade gastrointestinal and liver toxicities, and AEs should be recognized promptly as early interventions may alleviate future complications.

A rare case of Miller Fisher variant of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) induced by a checkpoint inhibitor.

TL;DR: This case of a 68-year-old male who was admitted with sudden onset of worsening neurological symptoms following immunotherapy treatment is presented, one of few in the literature and an important reminder of the potential for new immunotherapeutic agents to cause significant neurotoxic effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immune-related Adverse Events in Cancer Patients.

TL;DR: This narrative review summarizes the biology, pathophysiology, and adverse events associated with checkpoint inhibitors and CAR-T cells and provides a rational approach to management.
Journal ArticleDOI

Occurrences and Outcomes of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors-Induced Vitiligo in Cancer Patients: A Retrospective Cohort Study

TL;DR: An overall picture of ICI-induced vitiligo in daily medical practice on a large number of pharmacovigilance observations of case patients is provided, and the data suggest that the resolution of pembrolizumab- or nivolumAB-induced Vitiligo could be a marker of disease progression.
Journal ArticleDOI

Checkpoint inhibitor-induced fulminant myocarditis, complete atrioventricular block and myasthenia gravis—a case report

TL;DR: A 48-year-old woman with a history of progressive thymoma who developed complete atrioventricular block associated with fulminant myocarditis and myasthenia gravis 2 weeks after starting treatment with pembrolizumab is presented.

Bias in meta-analysis detected by a simple, graphical test

TL;DR: Funnel plots, plots of the trials' effect estimates against sample size, are skewed and asymmetrical in the presence of publication bias and other biases Funnel plot asymmetry, measured by regression analysis, predicts discordance of results when meta-analyses are compared with single large trials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meta-Analysis in Clinical Trials*

TL;DR: This paper examines eight published reviews each reporting results from several related trials in order to evaluate the efficacy of a certain treatment for a specified medical condition and suggests a simple noniterative procedure for characterizing the distribution of treatment effects in a series of studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Operating characteristics of a rank correlation test for publication bias.

TL;DR: In this paper, an adjusted rank correlation test is proposed as a technique for identifying publication bias in a meta-analysis, and its operating characteristics are evaluated via simulations, and the test statistic is a direct statistical analogue of the popular funnel-graph.
