TLDR
There is substantial evidence that ICIs are associated with a small but significant increase in risk of selected all-grade irAEs and high-grade gastrointestinal and liver toxicities, and AEs should be recognized promptly as early interventions may alleviate future complications.

Cytokine release syndrome complicated with severe rashes induced by nivolumab plus ipilimumab therapy in a patient with non-small cell lung cancer: A case report.

TL;DR: In this paper , a 75-year-old Japanese woman who received nivolumab plus ipilimumab therapy for the postoperative recurrence of non-small cell lung cancer was admitted to a hospital with fever, hypotension, hepatic disorder, and thrombocytopenia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simultaneous development of pneumonitis and autoimmune diabetes secondary to immune checkpoint inhibitor treatment with durvalumab in an advanced small cell lung cancer patient: A case report

TL;DR: In this article , a 65-year-old man with advanced small cell lung cancer (SCLC) suffered general fatigue, dry cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath and polyuria-polydipsia syndrome after the eighth cycle treatment with programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1) inhibitor durvalumab.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endocrinopathies as a price of cancer treatment

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors discuss the adverse effects of immunotherapy using CTLA-4 inhibitors, including non-endocrinal adverse effects like colitis and dermatitis, and endocrinal side effects predominantly involving pituitary and thyroid gland plus the endocrine pancreas.

Bias in meta-analysis detected by a simple, graphical test

TL;DR: Funnel plots, plots of the trials' effect estimates against sample size, are skewed and asymmetrical in the presence of publication bias and other biases Funnel plot asymmetry, measured by regression analysis, predicts discordance of results when meta-analyses are compared with single large trials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meta-Analysis in Clinical Trials*

TL;DR: This paper examines eight published reviews each reporting results from several related trials in order to evaluate the efficacy of a certain treatment for a specified medical condition and suggests a simple noniterative procedure for characterizing the distribution of treatment effects in a series of studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Operating characteristics of a rank correlation test for publication bias.

TL;DR: In this paper, an adjusted rank correlation test is proposed as a technique for identifying publication bias in a meta-analysis, and its operating characteristics are evaluated via simulations, and the test statistic is a direct statistical analogue of the popular funnel-graph.
