TLDR
It is suggested that distinct subgroups of patients with elevated AA or DE can be identified within the broader diagnosis of schizophrenia and that these subgroups show clinically meaningful differences in presentation.About:

Reward-driven decision-making impairments in schizophrenia
Sarah Saperia,Susana Da Silva,Ishraq Siddiqui,Ofer Agid,Z. Jeff Daskalakis,Arun Ravindran,Aristotle N. Voineskos,Konstantine K. Zakzanis,Gary Remington,George Foussias +9 more
TL;DR: Examining win-stay/lose-shift behaviour on the Iowa Gambling Task (IGT) suggested a potential mechanism contributing to the motivation deficits seen in schizophrenia.

TL;DR: A multivariate data-driven approach is applied to investigate covariance patterns between multiple-symptom domains and distributed brain abnormalities in schizophrenia and identified a continuous cognitive-negative dimension of schizophrenia, centered on 2 intrinsic networks.

Separable and Replicable Neural Strategies During Social Brain Function in People With and Without Severe Mental Illness.

TL;DR: The study findings demonstrate replicable differing patterns of neural activity among individuals during a socio-emotional task, independent of DSM diagnosis or scan site, and may provide objective neuroimaging endpoints (biomarkers) for subgroups of individuals in target engagement research aimed at enhancing cognitive performance independent of diagnostic category.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictors of social functioning in patients with higher and lower levels of reduced emotional experience: Social cognition, social competence, and symptom severity.
TL;DR: The influence of social cognition on social outcomes appears greater in patients with less severe symptoms of reduced emotional experience, and differential application of these interventions based on symptom severity is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictors of neuropsychological effort test performance in schizophrenia
TL;DR: Regression analyses revealed that insufficient effort was most significantly predicted by a combination of low IQ, negative symptoms, and positive symptoms, which suggest that although insufficient effort may be relatively uncommon in schizophrenia, it is associated with important clinical outcomes.

The Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale
John E. Overall,Donald R. Gorham +1 more
TL;DR: The Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BRS) as mentioned in this paper was developed to provide a rapid assessment technique particularly suited to the evaluation of patient change, and it is recommended for use where efficiency, speed, and economy are important considerations.

Cluster Analysis
TL;DR: This fourth edition of the highly successful Cluster Analysis represents a thorough revision of the third edition and covers new and developing areas such as classification likelihood and neural networks for clustering.

Cluster analysis
TL;DR: Cluster analysis is a multivariate procedure for detecting natural groupings in data that resembles discriminant analysis in one respect—the researcher seeks to classify a set of objects into subgroups although neither the number nor members of the subgroups are known.

Negative Symptoms in Schizophrenia: Definition and Reliability
TL;DR: The developed Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms has excellent interrater reliability and the five symptom complexes defined by the scale have good internal consistency, which indicates that the conceptual organization of the scale is also cohesive.
