Detection and variability of the Congo River plume from satellite derived sea surface temperature, salinity, ocean colour and sea level

TLDR
In this paper, the authors analyse remotely sensed sea surface temperature, sea level anomaly, salinity and chlorophyll concentration from 2010 to describe and quantify the extent, strength and seasonality of the plume and to explain its behaviour in relation to winds, ocean currents and fresh water discharge.

Variability of chlorophyll-a concentration in the Gulf of Guinea and its relation to physical oceanographic variables

TL;DR: Satellite data were used to characterize the oceanography of the Gulf of Guinea and ocean color CCI Chla offered unprecedented data coverage and the impact of river outflow was significant mostly from Nigeria to Gabon.

River plume dynamics in the Kara Sea from altimetry-based lagrangian model, satellite salinity and chlorophyll data.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors study the interannual variability of the river plume dynamics in the Kara Sea using multi-satellite observations and introduce particle-tracking model for pathways calculation of the plume propagation that is based on satellite altimetry and wind data reanalysis.

Daily High-Resolution-Blended Analyses for Sea Surface Temperature

TL;DR: In this paper, two new high-resolution sea surface temperature (SST) analysis products have been developed using optimum interpolation (OI), which have a spatial grid resolution of 0.25° and a temporal resolution of 1 day.

Carbon and carbonate metabolism in coastal aquatic ecosystems

TL;DR: In this paper, the primary production, respiration, calcification, carbon burial and exchange with adjacent systems, including the atmosphere, are reviewed for the major coastal ecosystems (estuaries, macrophyte communities, mangroves, coral reefs, and the remaining continental shelf).

Introductory dynamical oceanography

TL;DR: In this article, the basic physical laws used in oceanography and classifications of forces and motions in the sea are discussed, and the role of non-linear terms and the magnitudes of terms in the equations of motion are discussed.
