TLDR
This paper developed and validated short, self-report scales of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC) using conceptualizations consistent with the current literature.
Abstract
Researchers report on a 3-sample study that developed and validated short, self-report scales of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC). Using conceptualizations consistent with the current literature, the researchers offer content domains and definitions of the constructs. Advocated procedures were used to develop the scales and test dimensionality and internal consistency. Estimates of construct validity are presented by relating the scales to 16 other on- and off-job constructs. Mean-level difference tests between WFC and FWC also provide evidence of validity.

Exploring work-family interface for Indian women entrepreneurs

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the nature of work-family interface for urban Indian women entrepreneurs (WEs), in terms of not only conflict but also enrichment, and examined the coping and support mechanisms that are used by the WEs.

Juggling or struggling? Work and family interface and its buffers among small business owners

TL;DR: This article examined the role of work-family conflict, family enhancement, and social support on small business owners' (SBOs ) well-being and found that family conflict has a negative effect on mental health, job, family and life satisfactions.

The relationship between school-work-family-conflict, subjective stress, and burnout

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined six school-work-family interrole conflicts and their effects on subjective stress and burnout among married, working adults and found that women experience more work-family-school conflicts than do men.

Distress, support, and relationship satisfaction during military-induced separations : a longitudinal study among spouses of Dutch deployed military personnel

TL;DR: Clinical implications for psychological service delivery suggested by these findings are impacted by the stage of the work-related spousal separation, as well as what best predicts relationship satisfaction after being separated for several months.

Evaluating Structural Equation Models with Unobservable Variables and Measurement Error

TL;DR: In this paper, the statistical tests used in the analysis of structural equation models with unobservable variables and measurement error are examined, and a drawback of the commonly applied chi square test, in additit...

Structural equation modeling in practice: a review and recommended two-step approach

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide guidance for substantive researchers on the use of structural equation modeling in practice for theory testing and development, and present a comprehensive, two-step modeling approach that employs a series of nested models and sequential chi-square difference tests.

Comparative fit indexes in structural models

TL;DR: A new coefficient is proposed to summarize the relative reduction in the noncentrality parameters of two nested models and two estimators of the coefficient yield new normed (CFI) and nonnormed (FI) fit indexes.

On the evaluation of structural equation models

TL;DR: In this article, structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated, and an overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence.
