TLDR
This paper developed and validated short, self-report scales of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC) using conceptualizations consistent with the current literature.Abstract:
Researchers report on a 3-sample study that developed and validated short, self-report scales of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC). Using conceptualizations consistent with the current literature, the researchers offer content domains and definitions of the constructs. Advocated procedures were used to develop the scales and test dimensionality and internal consistency. Estimates of construct validity are presented by relating the scales to 16 other on- and off-job constructs. Mean-level difference tests between WFC and FWC also provide evidence of validity.read more

Emergency physicians accumulate more stress factors than other physicians–results from the French SESMAT study
Madeleine Estryn-Behar,Doppia Ma,K. Guetarni,Clémentine Fry,G. Machet,P Pelloux,I. Aune,D. Muster,J M Lassaunière,Prudhomme C +9 more
TL;DR: It is important to improve work–family balance, working processes through collaboration, multidisciplinary teamwork and to develop team training approaches and ward design to facilitate teamwork to prevent the premature departure of French doctors.

An Analysis of Quality of Work Life (QWL) and Career- Related Variables
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors determined the level and relationship between qualities of work life (QWL) with career-related variables and found that the three exogenous variables are significant: career satisfaction, career achievement and career balance.

From “work–family” to “work–life”: Broadening our conceptualization and measurement
TL;DR: A measure of work interference with life across eight non-work domains and two forms of interference (strain-and time-based) was developed and tested in two studies of 1811 and 3145 university alumni from multiple organizations and diverse occupations.

Effects of organizational and professional identification on the relationship between administrators' social influence and professional employees' adoption of new work behavior.
TL;DR: Professional employees were found to be most receptive to administrator social influence to adopt new work behavior when they strongly identify with the organization and weakly identified with the profession.

Intention to leave nursing: The importance of interpersonal work context, work-home interference, and job satisfaction beyond the effect of occupational commitment.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined potential predictors of nurses' intention to leave the nursing profession and found that an unsupportive work environment, low leadership quality, and high work-to-home interference results in lower job satisfaction.

Structural equation modeling in practice: a review and recommended two-step approach
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide guidance for substantive researchers on the use of structural equation modeling in practice for theory testing and development, and present a comprehensive, two-step modeling approach that employs a series of nested models and sequential chi-square difference tests.

Comparative fit indexes in structural models
TL;DR: A new coefficient is proposed to summarize the relative reduction in the noncentrality parameters of two nested models and two estimators of the coefficient yield new normed (CFI) and nonnormed (FI) fit indexes.

On the evaluation of structural equation models
Richard P. Bagozzi,Youjae Yi +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated, and an overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence.
