TLDR
This paper developed and validated short, self-report scales of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC) using conceptualizations consistent with the current literature.
Abstract
Researchers report on a 3-sample study that developed and validated short, self-report scales of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC). Using conceptualizations consistent with the current literature, the researchers offer content domains and definitions of the constructs. Advocated procedures were used to develop the scales and test dimensionality and internal consistency. Estimates of construct validity are presented by relating the scales to 16 other on- and off-job constructs. Mean-level difference tests between WFC and FWC also provide evidence of validity.

Work-Family Segmentation Preferences and Work-Family Conflict: Mediating Effect of Work-Related ICT Use at Home and the Multilevel Moderating Effect of Group Segmentation Norms.

TL;DR: A multilevel model that examines the effects of group segmentation norms on individual-level processes, relating segmentation preferences to work-family conflict via the use of a technological boundary revealed that work-related information and communication technology use at home mediated the relationship between employee work- family segmentation preference and work- Family conflict.

Work Fatigue in a Non-Deployed Military Setting: Assessment, Prevalence, Predictors, and Outcomes

TL;DR: The 3D-WFI provided a psychometrically sound assessment of physical, mental, and emotional work fatigue among military personnel, which was invariant across sex, age, military component, and military role.

The crossover effect of work–family conflict among hotel employees

TL;DR: In this paper, the crossover effect of work-family conflict is investigated in a hotel setting. But, the authors focus on three resource-related mechanisms and explore the consequences of subordinates' WFC.

Family fairness and cohesion in marital dyads: Mediating processes between work–family conflict and couple psychological distress

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors take a family systems approach to understand how an employee's work-family conflict and their spouse's observed workfamily conflict can create stress within a family unit by negatively impacting employee and spousal perceptions of fairness in the division of household labour.

Work–family Conflict, Family–work Conflict and Intention to Leave the Organization: Evidences Across Five Industry Sectors in India:

TL;DR: With the attrition rates across different industry sectors likely to rise to up to a global high of 20 per cent by 2017 in India, organizations are finding it harder to understand its antecedents as mentioned in this paper.

Structural equation modeling in practice: a review and recommended two-step approach

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide guidance for substantive researchers on the use of structural equation modeling in practice for theory testing and development, and present a comprehensive, two-step modeling approach that employs a series of nested models and sequential chi-square difference tests.

Comparative fit indexes in structural models

TL;DR: A new coefficient is proposed to summarize the relative reduction in the noncentrality parameters of two nested models and two estimators of the coefficient yield new normed (CFI) and nonnormed (FI) fit indexes.

On the evaluation of structural equation models

TL;DR: In this article, structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated, and an overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence.
