TLDR
This paper developed and validated short, self-report scales of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC) using conceptualizations consistent with the current literature.Abstract:
Researchers report on a 3-sample study that developed and validated short, self-report scales of work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC). Using conceptualizations consistent with the current literature, the researchers offer content domains and definitions of the constructs. Advocated procedures were used to develop the scales and test dimensionality and internal consistency. Estimates of construct validity are presented by relating the scales to 16 other on- and off-job constructs. Mean-level difference tests between WFC and FWC also provide evidence of validity.read more

The Development and Validation of Scores on Perceived Work and Family Demand Scales
TL;DR: In this paper, two scales, Perceived Work Demand (PWD) and Perceived Family Demand(PFD), are developed and their scores validated using three diverse samples, and the results provide support for both perceived work and family demand scales.

Job Stress, Depression and Work-to-Family Conflict: A Test of the Strain and Buffer Hypotheses
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the job demand control model to predict depression and work-to-family conflict for married lawyers working full-time and found that spouse's support of one's career has the strongest main effect on both depression and family conflict.

Do workers who experience conflict between the work and family domains hit a “glass ceiling?”: A meta-analytic examination
TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that when workers experience conflict between the work and family domains, this should have implications for evaluations of their work performance and ultimately affect more objective career outcomes such as salary and hierarchical level attained, as well as the attitudinal outcome of career satisfaction.

Situating Work–Family Negotiations Within a Life Course Perspective: Insights on the Gendered Experiences of NCAA Division I Head Coaching Mothers
TL;DR: In this paper, a qualitative life course perspective was employed to examine the experiences of seventeen head coach mothers in NCAA institutions, focusing on the participants' historical/social context, biography, relationships, interplay between these factors and most importantly the role of administrators as life linkages.

An Investigation into the Effects of Work–Family Conflict and Job Satisfaction on Salesperson Deviance
TL;DR: The linkages between and effects of work-family conflict and salesperson deviance behaviors have not received adequate attention in the marketing literature as mentioned in this paper, which is surprising given the profound academic and practical implications that could be derived from further research in the area.

Structural equation modeling in practice: a review and recommended two-step approach
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide guidance for substantive researchers on the use of structural equation modeling in practice for theory testing and development, and present a comprehensive, two-step modeling approach that employs a series of nested models and sequential chi-square difference tests.

Applied multiple regression/correlation analysis for the behavioral sciences
TL;DR: In this article, the Mathematical Basis for Multiple Regression/Correlation and Identification of the Inverse Matrix Elements is presented. But it does not address the problem of missing data.

Comparative fit indexes in structural models
TL;DR: A new coefficient is proposed to summarize the relative reduction in the noncentrality parameters of two nested models and two estimators of the coefficient yield new normed (CFI) and nonnormed (FI) fit indexes.

On the evaluation of structural equation models
Richard P. Bagozzi,Youjae Yi +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated, and an overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence.
