TLDR
In this article, an attempt is made to derive an empirical law of bed-load transport based on recent experimental data and the results and interpretation of tests already made known in former publications of the Laboratory for Hydraulic Research and Soil Mechanics at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.Abstract:
In the following paper, a brief summary is first of all given of the results and interpretation of tests already made known in former publications of the Laboratory for Hydraulic Research and Soil Mechanics at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. After that, an attempt is made to derive an empirical law of bed-load transport based on recent experimental data. We desire to state expressly that by bed-load transport is meant the movement of the solid material rolling or jumping along the bed of a river; transport of matter in suspension is not included.read more

Process-based modelling of storm impacts on gravel coasts
TL;DR: In this paper, a morphodynamic, depth-averaged, cross-shore profile model based on the XBeach model for sandy coasts was developed to simulate storm impacts on gravel coasts.
Two dimensional sediment transport model using parallel computers
Hansen Nils Bahne,Vikas Singh +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a vertically integrated two-dimensional numerical sediment transport model, where sediment transport is simulated in two parts in this model: suspended load and bed load.

Numerical and experimental study of flow over stages of an offset merger dune interaction
Chao Wang,Z. Tang,Nathaniel Bristow,Gianluca Blois,Kenneth T. Christensen,Kenneth T. Christensen,William Anderson +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a coordinated research effort on unidirectional turbulent flows over canonical barchan dunes at high Reynolds number is presented, and experiments are conducted under inertial-dominated flow conditions, thus capturing dynamics essential to fully understand processes responsible for observed patterns of asymmetric erosion and migration.

Determinants of modelling choices for 1-D free surface flow and morphodynamics in hydrology and hydraulics: a review
Bruno Cheviron,Roger Moussa +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the determinants of modelling choices, for numerous applications of 1-D free-surface flow and morphodynamic equations in hydrology and hydraulics, across multiple spatiotemporal scales are investigated.
