TLDR
In this article, an attempt is made to derive an empirical law of bed-load transport based on recent experimental data and the results and interpretation of tests already made known in former publications of the Laboratory for Hydraulic Research and Soil Mechanics at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.
Abstract
In the following paper, a brief summary is first of all given of the results and interpretation of tests already made known in former publications of the Laboratory for Hydraulic Research and Soil Mechanics at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. After that, an attempt is made to derive an empirical law of bed-load transport based on recent experimental data. We desire to state expressly that by bed-load transport is meant the movement of the solid material rolling or jumping along the bed of a river; transport of matter in suspension is not included.

Linear evolution of sandwave packets

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate how a local topographic disturbance of a flat seabed may become morphodynamically active, according to the linear instability mechanism which gives rise to sandwave formation.

Modeling and Observations of Sand Ripple Formation and Evolution During TREX13

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a spectral ripple model, Navy Seafloor Evolution Archetype (NSEA), which simulated the variations in seafloor roughness given measured or predicted wave conditions in sandy environments.

Morphodynamic Modeling of River-Dominated Deltas: A Review and Future Perspectives

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a numerical simulation of river deltas and show that they contain seemingly organized patterns and shapes at a variety of scales, and that they are a compelling target for numerical simulation.

Representative sediment sizes in predicting the bed-material load for nonuniform sediments

TL;DR: In this article, the applicability of representative sediment size in terms of median grain size and the effective sediment sizes for the transport of non-uniform natural sediment mixtures was evaluated.

Use of Sediment Rating Curves and Optical Backscatter Data to Characterize Sediment Transport in the Upper Yuba River Watershed, California, 2001-03:

TL;DR: In this article, the results of a three-year study by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the California Ecosystem Restoration Program of the California Bay-Delta Authority and the California Resources Agency, were evaluated from October 2001 through September 2003.
