TLDR
In this article, an attempt is made to derive an empirical law of bed-load transport based on recent experimental data and the results and interpretation of tests already made known in former publications of the Laboratory for Hydraulic Research and Soil Mechanics at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.
Abstract
In the following paper, a brief summary is first of all given of the results and interpretation of tests already made known in former publications of the Laboratory for Hydraulic Research and Soil Mechanics at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. After that, an attempt is made to derive an empirical law of bed-load transport based on recent experimental data. We desire to state expressly that by bed-load transport is meant the movement of the solid material rolling or jumping along the bed of a river; transport of matter in suspension is not included.

Climate Change Impacts on Sediment Yield and Debris-Flow Activity in an Alpine Catchment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors combined a stochastic weather generator model with the most current climate change projections to feed a hillslope-channel sediment cascade model for a major debris-flow system in the Swiss Alps (the Illgraben).

Effect of Flood Hydrograph Duration, Magnitude, and Shape on Bed Load Transport Dynamics

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use laboratory experiments to explore how sediment flux under transient and intermittent flow differ from those under steady flow. And they find that cumulative bed load flux resulting from a flood scales linearly with the integrated excess transport capacity (flow impulse).

Grain sorting effects on the formation of tidal sand waves

TL;DR: In this article, a model is developed to investigate the process which leads to the formation of sand waves in shallow tidal seas characterized by a heterogeneous sea bed composition, where small amplitude perturbations are added to the flat bottom and a linear analysis of their time development is made.

Modelling storm response on gravel beaches using XBeach-G

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduce a storm impact model for gravel beaches and barriers developed during the project (XBeach-G), present a brief validation of the model using field data and describe a user-friendly graphical user interface for the model.

A two-dimensional hydro-morphological model for river hydraulics and morphology with vegetation

TL;DR: A novel coupled flow-sediment-vegetation model capable of reproducing river hydraulics and morphology with vegetation is developed, which can be used not only to predict flooding and morphological evolution with vegetation, but also to assess river restoration involving vegetation.
