TLDR
In this article, an attempt is made to derive an empirical law of bed-load transport based on recent experimental data and the results and interpretation of tests already made known in former publications of the Laboratory for Hydraulic Research and Soil Mechanics at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.
Abstract
In the following paper, a brief summary is first of all given of the results and interpretation of tests already made known in former publications of the Laboratory for Hydraulic Research and Soil Mechanics at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. After that, an attempt is made to derive an empirical law of bed-load transport based on recent experimental data. We desire to state expressly that by bed-load transport is meant the movement of the solid material rolling or jumping along the bed of a river; transport of matter in suspension is not included.

Coupling glacial lake impact, dam breach, and flood processes: A modeling perspective

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a spectrum of case studies from Patagonia, the European Alps, central Asia, and the Himalayas in which they simulate single processes and process chains of past and potential future events.

A two-dimensional, time-dependent model of suspended sediment transport and bed reworking for continental shelves

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-dimensional, time-dependent solution to the transport equation is formulated to account for advection and diffusion of sediment suspended in the bottom boundary layer of continental shelves.

Formation of fluvial hanging valleys: Theory and simulation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate that thresholds apparent in sediment flux-dependent bedrock incision rules provide mechanisms for the formation of hanging valleys in response to transient pulses of river incision.

Direct numerical simulation of pattern formation in subaqueous sediment

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present results of direct numerical simulation of incompressible fluid flow over a thick bed of mobile spherically shaped particles using a soft-sphere model for the solid-solid contact.

Deterministic coastal morphological and sediment transport modeling: a review and discussion

TL;DR: A review of state-of-the-art Eulerian implementations of bottom-up sediment transport and morphological change in coastal ocean hydrodynamic models can be found in this article.
