Journal ArticleDOI
Scandinavian, Siberian, and Arctic Ocean Glaciation: Effect of Holocene Atmospheric CO2 Variations.
TL;DR: In the simulations, climatic warming associated with the Holocene rise of atmospheric CO2 was sufficient to collapse this widespread glaciation and restore present-day ice conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
New method of measuring second harmonic generation efficiency using powder crystals
TL;DR: In this paper, a new method of measuring second-harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency using powder crystals is proposed, where the second harmonic which is generated by the evanescent wave under total reflection conditions, is phase matched for every element of the second-order optical nonlinear coefficient, whether each element is phase matchable in a bulk crystal or not.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optical third-harmonic generation from poly-(2,5-dimethoxy p-phenylene vinylene) thin film
Toshikuni Kaino,Hideki Kobayashi,Ken Ichi Kubodera,Takashi Kurihara,Shogo Saito,Tetsuo Tsutsui,Shizuo Tokito +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the third-order optical susceptibility of poly(2,5dimethoxy pphenylene vinylene) thin film was measured at 1.85 μm wavelength.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural, optical, and electrical properties of the organic molecular crystal 4-N,N- dimethylamino-4′-N′-methyl stilbazolium tosylate
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used microscopic structural properties including molecular orientation and intermolecular interactions to determine the charge-carrier generation and transport properties of the organic salt 4-N,N-dimethylamino-4′-N′-methyl stilbazolium tosylate (DAST).
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermally stable poled polyimides using heteroaromatic chromophores
K. Y. Wong,Alex K.-Y. Jen +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an electro-optic coefficient r33 value of 10.8 pm/V measured at 1.52 μm was achieved, and the electrooptic activity maintained more than 80% of its initial value after 600 h at 120°C, and more than 60% after 700 h at 150°C.
