Replication-Transcription Conflicts Generate R-Loops that Orchestrate Bacterial Stress Survival and Pathogenesis

TLDR
It is shown that pervasive R-loop formation at head-on collision regions completely blocks replication, elevates mutagenesis, and inhibits gene expression, and that the resolution of these structures is critical for bacterial stress survival and pathogenesis.

The DNA damage response to transcription stress.

TL;DR: TBL detection by the stalling of RNA polymerase II is highly efficient but may interfere with repair, and overall with transcription and replication, Consequently, TC-NER deregulation causes hereditary disorders with complex genotype–phenotype correlations.
