TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the transport properties of energetic particles in the upstream region of an interplanetary shock, considering the possibility of anomalous diffusion and showed that particle propagation around a near-Earth orbit can be intermediate between normal diffusion and ballistic motion, even though the power of the electromagnetic wave is sufficiently large to scatter the particles.
