Molybdenum in natural waters: A review of occurrence, distributions and controls

TL;DR: The 2011 WHO Guidelines for Drinking-Water Quality (fourth edition) advised a health-based value of 70μg/L for Mo but this is no longer promulgated as a formal guideline value as WHO consider such concentrations to be rarely found in drinking water as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure and Function of Xanthine Oxidoreductase

TL;DR: An overview of the current state of our understanding of the molybdenum-containing enzyme xanthine oxidoreductase is presented, with an emphasis on work done in the past five years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthetic approaches to the molybdenum sulfide materials

TL;DR: In this article, synthetic aspects of molybdenum sulfide-based materials were reviewed, with emphasis on the catalytic materials, and a number of preparation methods were critically compared, including molecular precursor decomposition, hydrothermal, soft chemistry aqueous, surfactant-aided, intercalation-exfoliation, and solid gas reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reduction of Carbon Dioxide by a Molybdenum-Containing Formate Dehydrogenase: A Kinetic and Mechanistic Study.

TL;DR: The ability of Desulfovibrio desulfuricans formate dehydrogenase (DdFDH) to reduce carbon dioxide was kinetically and mechanistically characterized and a kinetic model of a hysteretic enzyme is proposed to interpret and predict the progress curves of the Dd FDH-catalyzed reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and characterization of molybdenum complexes with bidentate Schiff base ligands within nanoreactors of MCM-41 as epoxidation catalysts

TL;DR: The mesoporous molecular sieve MCM-41 was covalently grafted with 3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane (AmpMCM41) in this article.

Molybdenum(IV) oxo-complexes. Part II. Crystal and molecular structure of dichlorotris(diethylphenylphosphine)oxomolybdenum(IV), cis-mer-[MoOCl2(PEt2Ph)3]

TL;DR: In this paper, the molecular geometry of the title compound was determined by X-ray crystal-structure analysis from diffractometer data, and the structure was solved by the heavy-atom method and refined by full-matrix least-squares to R 0·081 for 2283 reflections.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-Ray structural and Raman data, including remarkable resonance Raman effects, for quadruple molybdenum-to-molybdenum bonds

TL;DR: The Mo2(SO4)44− ion has been studied crystallographically and found to have a very short (2·110 A) Mo-Mo bond; the Raman spectra of this and other Mo24+ complexes exhibit strong bands (Mo-Mo stretching) in the range 345-406 cm-1 with Mo2Cl84− compounds showing remarkable resonance Raman enhancements up to the 3rd overtone when irradiated at 4880 A.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reductive nitrosation of molybdenum and tungsten halides. A new route to dichlorodinitrosylmolybdenum, dichlorodinitrosyltungsten and their derivatives

TL;DR: Complexes of the type [M(NO)2Cl2]n and M(NO 2Cl2PPh3)2 (M = Mo or W) have been prepared by the action of nitric oxide on tungsten hexachloride and molybdenum pentachlorides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxomolubdenum complexes with schiff bases obtained from salicylaldehyde derivatives and alkyl- and aryl-amines

TL;DR: In this paper, N-alkyl-and N-aryl-salicylaldiminates (abbreviated as X-Sal-R) were used as ligands to synthesize new molybdenum (V) and molybordenum(VI) complexes with various alkyl-and arylamines.
