Journal ArticleDOI

Artificial neural networks in medical diagnosis

TL;DR: The philosophy, capabilities, and limitations of artificial neural networks in medical diagnosis through selected examples are reviewed and discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Screening ethnically diverse human embryonic stem cells identifies a chromosome 20 minimal amplicon conferring growth advantage

Katherine Amps, +124 more
- 27 Nov 2011 -
TL;DR: Of these genes, BCL2L1 is a strong candidate for driving culture adaptation of ES cells, and single-nucleotide polymorphism analysis revealed that they included representatives of most major ethnic groups.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simplified protocol for flow cytometry analysis of fluorescently labeled exosomes and microvesicles using dedicated flow cytometer.

TL;DR: A novel and fast approach for quantification and characterization of both exosomes and microvesicles isolated from cell culture media as well as from more complex human samples suitable for multiuser labs by using a flow cytometer especially designed for small particles, which can be used without adjustments prior to data acquisition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expression and potential role of fibroblast growth factor 2 and its receptors in human embryonic stem cells

TL;DR: It is proposed that this endogenous FGF signaling pathway can be implicated in self‐renewal or differentiation of hESCs, suggesting an involvement of autocrine FGF signals in the maintenance of proliferating h ESCs in the undifferentiated state.
