Simulationist models of face-based emotion recognition
Alvin I. Goldman,Chandra Sripada +1 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the simulation approach offers the best explanation of the data: deficits in face-based recognition are paired with deficits in the production of the same emotion for three emotions, fear, disgust, and anger.
Book ChapterDOI
The functional neuroanatomy of PTSD: a critical review
Israel Liberzon,Chandra Sripada +1 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that the mPFC plays a role in the "contextualization" of stimuli, and dysregulation of contextualization processes might play a key role inThe generation of PTSD symptoms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of childhood poverty and chronic stress on emotion regulatory brain function in adulthood
Pilyoung Kim,Gary W. Evans,Mike Angstadt,S. Shaun Ho,Chandra Sripada,James E. Swain,James E. Swain,Israel Liberzon,K. Luan Phan,K. Luan Phan +9 more
TL;DR: The findings demonstrate the significance of childhood chronic stress exposures in predicting neural outcomes during emotion regulation in adults who grew up in poverty.
Journal ArticleDOI
Navigating Into the Future or Driven by the Past
TL;DR: The history of the attempt to cast teleology out of science is reviewed, culminating in the failures of behaviorism and psychoanalysis to account adequately for action without teleology.
Journal ArticleDOI
