Genome-wide meta-analyses identifies novel taxane-induced peripheral neuropathy-associated loci
Lara E. Sucheston-Campbell,Alyssa I. Clay-Gilmour,William E. Barlow,G. Thomas Budd,Daniel O. Stram,Christopher A. Haiman,Xin Sheng,Li Yan,Gary Zirpoli,Song Yao,Chen Jiang,Kouros Owzar,Dawn L. Hershman,Kathy S. Albain,Daniel F. Hayes,Halle C. F. Moore,Timothy J. Hobday,James A. Stewart,Abbas Rizvi,Claudine Isaacs,Muhammad Salim,Jule R. Gralow,Gabriel N. Hortobagyi,Robert B. Livingston,Deanna L. Kroetz,Christine B. Ambrosone +25 more
TL;DR: The genetic variants associated with ≥grade 3 TIPN are hypothesized to have biochemical functions and reside in and near genes involved in diabetes and diabetic neuropathy, consistent with results from CALGB 40101 pathway analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel colon cancer susceptibility variants identified from a genome-wide association study in African Americans.
Hansong Wang,Stephanie L. Schmit,Christopher A. Haiman,Temitope O. Keku,Ikuko Kato,Julie R. Palmer,David Van Den Berg,Lynne R. Wilkens,Terrilea Burnett,David V. Conti,Fredrick R. Schumacher,Lisa B. Signorello,William J. Blot,Krista A. Zanetti,Curtis C. Harris,Mala Pande,Sonja I. Berndt,Polly A. Newcomb,Dee W. West,Robert W. Haile,Daniel O. Stram,Jane C. Figueiredo,Loic Le Marchand +22 more
TL;DR: A novel variant, rs56848936 in the gene SYMPK at 19q13.3, associated with colon cancer risk was identified and a variant previously identified through fine‐mapping in this GWAS was confirmed to be more strongly associated with CRC in the African American replication set than the variant originally reported in Europeans.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, the associations of genetic variants in alcohol-metabolizing genes with prostate cancer incidence and survival were investigated using logistic and Cox regression models, respectively, and the data across the 25 studies were meta-analysed using fixed effect and random effect models.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the IGF axis were associated with prostate cancer risk, low (< 7) vs. high (≥ 7) Gleason grade, localised vs. advanced stage, and mortality, in 22,936 controls and 22,992 cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Population genetic structure and origins of Native Hawaiians in the multiethnic cohort study.
Sung K. Kim,Sung K. Kim,Christopher R. Gignoux,Jeffrey D. Wall,Annette Lum-Jones,Hansong Wang,Christopher A. Haiman,Gary K. Chen,Brian E. Henderson,Laurence N. Kolonel,Loic Le Marchand,Daniel O. Stram,Richa Saxena,Richa Saxena,Iona Cheng +14 more
TL;DR: High-resolution genome-wide SNP data and mitochondrial genomes of 148 and 160 Native Hawaiians are utilized to characterize their population structure of the nuclear and mitochondrial genome, ancestral origins, and population expansion.
