Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular classification of cutaneous malignant melanoma by gene expression profiling
M. Bittner,Paul S. Meltzer,Yi Chen,Yong-hui Jiang,E. A. Seftor,Mary J.C. Hendrix,Michael D. Radmacher,Richard M. Simon,Zohar Yakhini,Amir Ben-Dor,Amir Ben-Dor,Nick Sampas,Edward R. Dougherty,Ena Wang,Francesco M. Marincola,C. Gooden,John Lueders,Arthur A. Glatfelter,P.C.A. Pollock,John D. Carpten,E. Gillanders,D. Leja,K. Dietrich,Christian Beaudry,Michael E. Berens,David S. Alberts,Vernon K. Sondak,Nicholas K. Hayward,J.M. Trent +28 more
TL;DR: Many genes underlying the classification of this subset of melanomas are differentially regulated in invasive melanomas that form primitive tubular networks in vitro, a feature of some highly aggressive metastatic melanomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
HRPT2, encoding parafibromin, is mutated in hyperparathyroidism–jaw tumor syndrome
John D. Carpten,Christiane M. Robbins,Andrea Villablanca,Lars Forsberg,Silvano Presciuttini,Joan E. Bailey-Wilson,William F. Simonds,E. Gillanders,A.M. Kennedy,Jindong Chen,Sunita K. Agarwal,Raman Sood,Mary Pat Jones,Tracy Moses,C. Haven,David Petillo,P.D. Leotlela,Brian Harding,David Cameron,Anna A.J. Pannett,Anders Höög,H. Heath,Laura James-Newton,Bruce G. Robinson,R.J. Zarbo,Branca M. Cavaco,Wassif S. Wassif,N.D. Perrier,I.B. Rosen,Ulf Kristoffersson,Peter D. Turnpenny,Lars-Ove Farnebo,G. M. Besser,Charles E. Jackson,Hans Morreau,J.M. Trent,Rajesh V. Thakker,Stephen J. Marx,Bin Tean Teh,Catharina Larsson,Maurine R. Hobbs +40 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that HRPT2 is a tumor-suppressor gene, the inactivation of which is directly involved in predisposition to HPT–JT and in development of some sporadic parathyroid tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Germline mutations in the ribonuclease L gene in families showing linkage with HPC1.
John D. Carpten,Nina N. Nupponen,Sarah D. Isaacs,Raman Sood,Christiane M. Robbins,Jianfeng Xu,Mezbah U. Faruque,Tracy Moses,Charles M. Ewing,E. Gillanders,Ping Hu,Piroska Bujnovszky,Izabela Makalowska,Agnes Baffoe-Bonnie,Agnes Baffoe-Bonnie,Dennis A. Faith,Jeffrey R. Smith,Dietrich A. Stephan,Kathy E. Trent +41 more
TL;DR: It is found that microdissected tumors with a germline mutation showed loss of heterozygosity and loss of RNase L protein, and that RNASEL activity was reduced in lymphoblasts from heterozyogous individuals compared with family members who were homozygous with respect to the wildtype allele.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence for a Prostate Cancer Susceptibility Locus on the X Chromosome
Jianfeng Xu,Deborah A. Meyers,D. Freije,Sarah D. Isaacs,Kathy E. Wiley,D.R. Nusskern,C. Ewing,E. Wilkens,P. Bujnovszky,G.S. Bova,Patrick C. Walsh,William B. Isaacs,Johanna Schleutker,M. Matikainen,T. Van Aucken,Raman Sood,Frank H. Collins,Michael J. Brownstein,J.M. Trent +42 more
TL;DR: Jianfeng Xu et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a method to identify the most influential players in the 2016 World Poker Challenge (WPC) and the 2017 WPC World Poker Championship (WCWC).
Journal ArticleDOI

Thomas,Molin Wang,Wendy Wang,Clarice R. Weinberg,Deborah M. Winn,John S. Witte +46 more
TL;DR: The National Cancer Institute sponsored a "Gene-Environment Think Tank" on January 10-11, 2012 to facilitate discussions on the state of the science, the goals of G × E interaction studies in cancer epidemiology, and opportunities for developing novel study designs and analysis tools as mentioned in this paper.
