Individuals with diabetes preferred that future trials use patient-important outcomes and provide pragmatic inferences.

TL;DR: In this article, patients with diabetes report a strong preference for practical trials measuring the effect of treatments on patient-important outcomes, and patients with poor glycemic control were more likely to prefer HbA1c as a primary end point (odds ratio: 1.5; 95% confidence interval: 1, 2.1).
Journal ArticleDOI

Hip fracture evaluation with alternatives of total hip arthroplasty versus hemiarthroplasty (HEALTH): protocol for a multicentre randomised trial

TL;DR: The HEALTH trial compares outcomes following THA versus HA in patients 50 years of age or older with displaced femoral neck fractures and is using minimisation to ensure balance between intervention groups for the following factors: age, prefracture living, prefractional status, American Society for Anesthesiologists (ASA) Class and centre number.

Stopping Randomized Trials Early for Benefit and Estimation of Treatment Effects

TL;DR: Tuncated RCTs were associated with greater effect sizes than R CTs not stopped early and this difference was independent of the presence of statistical stopping rules and was greatest in smaller studies.
