Journal ArticleDOI

Localization of the Insulin-like Growth Factor I Receptor Binding Sites for the SH2 Domain Proteins p85, Syp, and GTPase Activating Protein *

TL;DR: It is concluded that p85 and Syp may bind directly to the IGF-I receptor at tyrosine 1316, and that GAP may bind to the insulin-like growth factor I receptor in lysates of cells overexpressing the human IGF- I receptor.
Journal ArticleDOI

In Vivo Regulation of Non-Insulin-Mediated and Insulin-Mediated Glucose Uptake by Epinephrine*

TL;DR: EPI inhibits IMGU, but has no effect on NIMGU; when NIM GU is taken into account, EPI has a more potent ability to inhibit IMGU than previously found; and the systems responsible for NIMgu and IMGU are independently regulated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fetuin-A: the missing link in lipid-induced inflammation

TL;DR: The liver secretory protein fetuin-A (FetA) is shown to act as an adaptor protein between free fatty acids (FFAs) and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and provide the missing link between FFAs and chronic low-grade inflammation that impairs insulin sensitivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nerve growth factor processing and trafficking events following TrkA-mediated endocytosis.

TL;DR: The ability of 125I-NGF to remain receptor-associated during acidic conditions may provide a mechanism for its retroendocytosis via recycling TrkA vesicles.
