COMT Val158Met Polymorphism and Social Impairment Interactively Affect Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Symptoms in Healthy Adolescents.
Sabina Millenet,Frauke Nees,Stefan Heintz,Christiane Bach,Christiane Bach,Josef Frank,Sabine Vollstädt-Klein,Arun L.W. Bokde,Uli Bromberg,Christian Büchel,Erin Burke Quinlan,Sylvane Desrivières,Juliane H. Fröhner,Herta Flor,Herta Flor,Vincent Frouin,Hugh Garavan,Penny A. Gowland,Andreas Heinz,Bernd Ittermann,Herve Lemaire,Jean-Luc Martinot,Marie-Laure Paillère Martinot,Dimitri O. Papadoulos,Tomáš Paus,Luise Poustka,Marcella Rietschel,Michael N. Smolka,Henrik Walter,Robert Whelan,Gunter Schumann,Tobias Banaschewski,Sarah Hohmann +32 more
TL;DR: A significant association between COMT and social impairment is found, insofar as Met-allele carriers showed increased levels of social impairment, and could represent significant gene-phenotypic risk factors for ADHD symptomatology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Journal ArticleDOI
Attitudes toward the right to autonomous decision-making in psychiatric genetic testing: Controversial and context-dependent.
Jana Strohmaier,Stephanie H. Witt,Josef Frank,Noemi Lemme,Laura Flatau,Fabian Streit,Jerome C. Foo,Markus Reitt,Dan Rujescu,Dan Rujescu,Thomas G. Schulze,Thomas G. Schulze,Dirk Lanzerath,Franciska Illes,Franziska Degenhardt,Marcella Rietschel +15 more
TL;DR: Whether attitudes concerning the right of individuals to self‐determine testing and disclosure of results are context‐dependent, that is, not directly related to the test result but rather to specific circumstances, is determined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-Wide Association Study Of Borderline Personality Disorder Reveals Genetic Overlap With Bipolar Disorder And Schizophrenia
Stephanie H. Witt,Martin Jungkunz,Fabian Streit,Josef Frank,Jens Treutlein,Franziska Degenhardt,Andreas J. Forstner,Céline S. Reinbold,Sven Cichon,Markus M. Nöthen,Swapnil Awasthi,Stephan Ripke,Arian Mobascher,Dan Rujescu,Klaus Lieb,Stefan Roepke,Christian Schmahl,Martin Bohus,Marcella Rietschel +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, a case-control genome-wide association study (GWAS) of BPD was performed in one of the largest BPD patients samples worldwide, where the authors were interested in findings pointing to genes, gene-sets, and potential overlap with other psychiatric disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kelsoe,Markus M. Nöthen,Marcella Rietschel,Thomas G. Schulze,Dörthe Malzahn +68 more
TL;DR: The functionally-informed efficient region-based test strategy (FIERS) introduced by as mentioned in this paper uses prior knowledge on biological function and dependence of genotypes within a powerful statistical framework with improved sensitivity and specificity for detecting consistent genetic effects across studies.
