A new T-cell receptor gene located within the alpha locus and expressed early in T-cell differentiation
TL;DR: A new T-cell receptor gene lies just 5' to the JαCα coding regions, suggesting a novel mechanism for the regulation of expression of one T- cell receptor polypeptide to another during ontogeny.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiple early factors anticipate post-acute COVID-19 sequelae
Yapeng Su,Dan Yuan,Daniel G. Chen,Rachel Ng,Kai Wang,Jongchan Choi,Sarah Li,Sunga Hong,Rongyu Zhang,Jingyi Xie,Sergey A. Kornilov,Kelsey Scherler,A.-J. TL;DR: Huang et al. as discussed by the authors performed a deep multi-omic, longitudinal investigation of 309 COVID-19 patients from initial diagnosis to convalescence (2-3 months later), integrated with clinical data and patient-reported symptoms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetics of T-cell receptor binding to peptide/I-Ek complexes: correlation of the dissociation rate with T-cell responsiveness
TL;DR: The calculated affinity of the engineered soluble molecules compares well with previously reported competition data for native TCRs or competition data reported here for native peptide/MHC complexes, indicating that these soluble heterodimers bind in the same manner as the original molecules expressed on cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative analysis of hepatitis C virus-specific CD8+ T cells in peripheral blood and liver using peptide-MHC tetramers
Xiao-Song He,Barbara Rehermann,F X López-Labrador,Judie Boisvert,Ramsey Cheung,John B. Mumm,Heiner Wedemeyer,Marina Berenguer,Teresa L. Wright,Mark M. Davis,Mark M. Davis,Harry B. Greenberg +11 more
TL;DR: Direct quantitation and characterization ofHCV-specific CTLs should extend the understanding of the immunopathogenesis and the mechanism of clearance or persistence of HCV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thymic Selection Determines γδ T Cell Effector Fate: Antigen-Naive Cells Make Interleukin-17 and Antigen-Experienced Cells Make Interferon γ
Kirk D. C. Jensen,Xiaoqin Su,Sunny Shin,Luke Li,Sawsan Youssef,Sho Yamasaki,Lawrence Steinman,Takashi Saito,Richard M. Locksley,Mark M. Davis,Mark M. Davis,Nicole Baumgarth,Yueh-hsiu Chien +12 more
TL;DR: The swift IL-17 response mounted by antigen-naive gammadelta T cells suggests a critical role for these cells at the onset of an acute inflammatory response to novel antigens, and thymic selection determines the effector fate of gammad delta T cells rather than constrains their antigen specificities.
