Journal ArticleDOI
Role of Atypical Chemokine Receptors in Microglial Activation and Polarization.
Valentina Salvi,Francesca Sozio,Francesca Sozio,Silvano Sozzani,Silvano Sozzani,Annalisa Del Prete,Annalisa Del Prete +6 more
TL;DR: This review will summarize the current knowledge on the role of the ACKRs in neuroinflammation with a particular attention to their role in microglial polarization and function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Purification and identification of chemokines potentially involved in kidney-specific metastasis by a murine lymphoma variant: Induction of migration and NFκB activation
Ji Ming Wang,Oleg Chertov,Paul Proost,Jian Jian Li,Patricia Menton,Luoling Xu,Silvano Sozzani,Alberto Mantovani,Wanghua Gong,Volker Schirrmacher,Jo Van Damme,Joost J. Oppenheim +11 more
TL;DR: It is found that the murine kidney mesangial cell line MES‐13 released more chemotactic activity for ESb‐MP cells than present in KCM, and locally produced chemokines, MCP‐1(JE) and RANTES in particular, may contribute to the preferential metastasis of ESb-MP cells to the kidneys.
Journal ArticleDOI
HIV-1 matrix protein p17 induces human plasmacytoid dendritic cells to acquire a migratory immature cell phenotype
Simona Fiorentini,Elena Riboldi,Fabio Facchetti,Manuela Avolio,Marco Fabbri,Giorgio Tosti,Pablo D. Becker,Carlos A. Guzmán,Silvano Sozzani,Arnaldo Caruso +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that peripheral blood p DCs express p17Rs on their surface and that freshly isolated pDCs are sensitive to p17 stimulation, and a model where p17 induces immature circulating pDC's to home in lymph nodes devoid of their ability to serve as a link between innate and adaptative immune systems is proposed.
Journal Article
Interleukin 8 and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 in patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Relation to onset types, disease activity, and synovial fluid leukocytes
F De Benedetti,Pier Franco Pignatti,Sergio Bernasconi,Valeria Gerloni,Kouji Matsushima,Roberto Caporali,Carlomaurizio Montecucco,Silvano Sozzani,F Fantini,Alberto Martini +9 more
TL;DR: Elevated serum levels of IL-8 and MCP-1 in patients with systemic JRA with current systemic features at sampling suggest systemic production of the 2 chemokines during systemic phases of the disease.
