Randomized Noninferiority Trial of Telephone vs In-Person Disclosure of Germline Cancer Genetic Test Results
Angela R. Bradbury,Linda Patrick-Miller,Brian L. Egleston,Michael J. Hall,Susan M. Domchek,Mary B. Daly,Pamela S. Ganschow,Generosa Grana,Olufunmilayo I. TL;DR: Even in the era of multigene panel testing, these data suggest that telephone disclosure of cancer genetic test results is as an alternative to in-person disclosure for interested patients after in- person pretest counseling with a genetic counselor.

TL;DR: The PHB 1630TT genotype may modify breast and ovarian cancer risks in BRCA1 mutation carriers, and this association need to be evaluated in larger series of BRCC mutation carriers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Breast Cancer Predisposition Syndromes
Deborah Hemel,Susan M. Domchek +1 more
TL;DR: Advances in the field of breast cancer genetics have led to an improved understanding of detection and prevention strategies, and strategies to target the underlying genetic defects in BRCA1- and BRCa2-associated breast and ovarian cancers are emerging and may have implications for certain types of sporadic breast cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bilateral risk-reducing oophorectomy in BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation carriers.
TL;DR: Recent data demonstrate that HRT after BRRO in unaffected premenopausal women does not negate the breast cancer risk reduction that BRRO provides, and this article reviews the studies regardingBRRO in BRCA1/2 mutation carriers, with particular focus on the use of HRT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Breast reconstruction in bilateral prophylactic mastectomy patients: factors that influence decision making.
TL;DR: Multiple factors influence decision making in BPM and reconstruction, with the ultimate choice in reconstruction involving tissue availability, appearance of implant reconstructions, total amount of surgery required, and extent of visible scars.
