Journal ArticleDOI

Human immunoglobulin A receptor (FcalphaRI, CD89) function in transgenic mice requires both FcR gamma chain and CR3 (CD11b/CD18).

TL;DR: Remarkably, the capacity to lyse tumor targets was ablated in hFcRI transgenic/ CR3−/− mice, although binding of neutrophils to tumor cells was intact, which shows a previously unrecognized importance of CR3 for hF cRI-mediated antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC).
Journal ArticleDOI

Dependence of T Cell Antigen Recognition on the Dimensions of an Accessory Receptor–Ligand Complex

TL;DR: The findings demonstrate the importance of small size in CD2/CD48 function, and support the hypothesis that T cell antigen recognition requires segregation of cell surface molecules according to size.
Journal ArticleDOI

Discovery of very high energy γ-rays from 1ES 1011+496 at z = 0.212

Justin Albert, +147 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the discovery of very high energy (VHE) gamma-ray emission from the BL Lacertae object 1ES 1011+496 using the MAGIC telescope from 2007 March to May.
Journal ArticleDOI

Searches for Dark Matter annihilation signatures in the Segue 1 satellite galaxy with the MAGIC-I telescope

Jelena Aleksić, +165 more
TL;DR: In this article, the MAGIC-I ground-based gamma-ray telescope was used to observe the nearly satellite galaxy Segue 1 for a total of 43.2 hours and differential upper limits on the grimma-ray flux were derived assuming various power-law slopes for the possible emission spectrum.
