Abstract: We report superconductivity in heavily boron-doped bulk silicon carbide related to the diamond structure. The compound exhibits zero resistivity and diamagnetic susceptibility below a critical temperature T c of ∼1.4 K, and an effective boron doping concentration higher than 10 21 cm -3 . We present the H – T phase diagram of this new superconducting compound determined from AC susceptibility. In finite DC magnetic fields a clear hysteresis was observed between cooling and subsequent warming runs. This indicates, in contrast with the type-II superconductivity in boron-doped diamond and silicon, that a type-I superconductivity with a critical field H c (0) of about 100 Oe is realized in boron-doped SiC. Moreover, the specific-heat shows a clear jump at T c , demonstrating bulk nature of the superconductivity.

Abstract: In law-related problems on drugs and crime, there are two types: (1) possession/use of drugs, (2) crimes caused by mental distress after the use of drugs. In this paper, I will focus on the former type called 'drug crimes'. Since drugs cause medically negative effects on the human body, the management/use of drugs is limited by the law which prescribes penalties. At the present, the management/use of narcotics, other mentally stimulating drugs, opium and its raw material, an opium poppy, cannabis, and antihypnotics are limited by six laws, including criminal laws. In this paper, I will introduce the contents of these laws, and the current situation of 'drug crimes'.

Abstract: This report presents the results of KINECT applications used in physical rehabilitation tests. Aoyama Gakuin and Kitasato universities collaborated on this project, which is supported by SCOPE. The applications, following standard tests, are for the timed “Up & Go Test”, the timed “10-Meter Walk Test” and for a Joint “Range of Motion” Measurement”; test results are given. The implementation, evaluation and advantages of a proposed “Real-time ROM Measurement” are also given. The proposed KINECT application will be useful for enhancement of KINECT technical capabilities and for further advancements in medical care.
