TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of storage time and growth regulator, Furolan on protein, non-protein nitrogen and nitrogen contents of three varieties of winter wheat grains namely Batko, Diya and Krasnodar 99 was investigated.
Abstract: This study was carried out to investigate the effect of storage time and growth regulator, Furolan on protein, non-protein nitrogen and nitrogen contents of three varieties of winter wheat grains namely Batko, Diya and Krasnodar 99. The contents of the nitrogen, protein and non-protein nitrogen in winter wheat grain were determined by different protocols during the full ripeness phase of the grain and the period of 12 months storage. The grains (both the control and experimental) were kept in storage for varied periods under normal conditions. Krasnodar 99 variety responded most to the Furolan and recorded an increase in protein nitrogen content by 46.3% followed by 24.9% in experimental Batko variety and 17.4% in Diya’s variety in comparison with the control. The content of protein nitrogen in the grain of experimental Batko variety increased up to the seventh month of storage, and then decreased by the 12th month of storage. In the control—a similar tendency of change in this parameter was observed. It was noted that seven months of storage is critical in change dynamics of the content of non-protein nitrogen in the selected winter wheat varieties studied.

TL;DR: In this paper, an empirical study of ethical marketing practices as a pivot for the survival of businesses and consumers satisfaction is presented, which is anchored on re-emphasizing the need for marketers, companies and other businesses to be ethically oriented in their marketing practices for the benefits of all.
Abstract: This research work is an empirical study of ethical marketing practices as a pivot for the survival of businesses and consumers satisfaction. Ethical marketing entails making honest claims and satisfying the needs of potential and existing customers. Hence this research paper is anchored on re-emphasizing the need for marketers, companies and other businesses to be ethically oriented in their marketing practices for the benefits of all. To achieve the predetermined objectives, the researchers administered 362 questionnaires to respondents in order to solicit responses, and the model specification for testing all the hypotheses formulated was the Analysis of variance (ANOVA). The result of the findings indicated that marketers and other practitioners’ products and services will not generates the desired profit if they refuse to practice and imbibe ethical marketing behaviour or culture and institutionalize it in their marketing offers. The result is in conformity with the scholarly research work of Osuagwu (2004), Siham (2013) and Agbonifoh, et al., (1998). The other major exposition was that practitioners (marketers, businesses, organizations) may not survive the vulnerability and intense competition that exist in the marketing field and create the desired market share if they hesitate to embrace and inculcate ethical marketing practices in their marketing pragrammes. This finding also is in line with earlier work of Shelby (2006), that firms struggled to increase their market share and profitability but negative ethical marketing behaviour posed more problems. The last hypothesis substantiated the fact that ethical marketing does not encourage deceptive acts or behaviour, misleading and false information, to indulge in the sale of fake and adulterated products to mention but a few. The result gave credence to the prominent research work of Siham (2013), Laczniak (2008) and Osuagwu (2004) for all of them emphasized transparency, trust worthiness, honesty as against the above mentioned vices. In conclusion practitioners are encouraged to be more proactive in dealing with marketing issues that are premised on ethical standard and norms, especially as dictated by the society. This is one of the major ways businesses can continue to survive and function in a highly competitive market that different brands of products are seeking for consumers’ attention and patronage.

Abstract: This study was designed to examine motivational management practice and teacher's performance satisfaction in selected secondary schools in Cross River State, Nigeria. The study employed a descriptive survey design. The choice of survey design is the most appropriate for measuring the attitude and behavior of a large number of people. The survey ask limited questions of a larger number of people since it is seldom possible to question everyone concerned with a certain social problem, a sample is, therefore, used. The population of the study will be made up of 3145 senior secondary teachers in selected schools in Cross River State, Nigeria as obtained in the Niger State Ministry of Education, Department of Planning Research and Statistics (2020). The study adopted stratified and purposive sampling to select the required respondents to participate in the study. The sample consisted of 319 secondary school teachers. Data for this study was obtained using a researcher’s developed instrument entitled Motivation Management Practice and Teachers Performance satisfaction Opinion Questionnaire (MMPTJOQ). Developed on a 4–point modified Likert type scale. The finding revealed that remuneration significantly relates to teacher's performance satisfaction. It was also found that teachers’ placement has a significant influence on their performance satisfaction.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on the basic concept underlying the preparation and presentation of financial statements that are of great help the users and highlight the issues that are encountered in the course of producing financial reports for the diversified or multinational companies, the treatment of internal sales and inter-segmental or common costs such as issues of allocation problems, and the contrast between formal financial statements with informal commentaries as a means of conveying financial.
Abstract: Segmental financial reporting applies to multinational organizations that maintain one or more subsidiaries or branches in different geographical locations and with divergent operations. This paper, thus, focuses on the basic concept underlying the preparation and presentation of financial statements that are of great help the users. Accordingly, the aims, scope and applicability of the disclosure requirements of companies and allied matters legislations are examined. Other areas that are equally examined and discussed are: the concomitant problems that are encountered in the course of producing financial reports for the diversified or multinational companies, the treatment of internal sales and inter-segmental or common costs such as issues of allocation problems, the determination of reportable segment, and the contrast between formal financial statements with informal commentaries as a means of conveying financial. Furthermore, the disclosure requirements of SSAP 25 (Statement of Standard Accounting Practice No. 25), FRS 3 (Financial Reporting Standard No. 3) and companies and allied matters legislations are also highlighted. The paper concludes that users of financial statements need to be abreast with the current or latest practices and operations of these multinationals. Thus, the preparation and presentation of these financial statements should be done in such a way that would give a true and fair view of the company. Again, the reporting entities should disclose the geographical segmentation of turnover by origin; and to the third parties, the disclosure should be by destination. The paper recommends the harmonization of SSAP 25 and FRS 3 as a means of shading more light on the area of interpretation and disclosure practices.

TL;DR: Significant antidiarrhoeagenic effects expressed as MIC/MBC of extracts against all test organisms were observed with ethanolic extracts of Newbouldia laevis and may be associated with the high solubility of their phytochemicals.
Abstract: Antidiarrhoeagenic activities of 10 ethnomedicial plants extracts were evaluated against 4 bacterial strains, Escherichia coli, Vibro cholerae, Shigella dysentariae, Salmonella enterica. Plants were collected from a quiet Oban Community in South East Nigeria and the enthnobotanical data gathered. Solvent (methanol, ethanol diethyl ether) extracts obtained by Sohxlet were challenged with clinical isolates using paper disc diffusion method. The results indicated that 80% of the plants examined exhibited antidiarrhoeagenic activity against one or more of the tested organisms. Ethanolic extracts of Azadirachta indica and Dracaena manni were most active. Significant antidiarrhoeagenic effects expressed as MIC/MBC of extracts against all test organisms were observed with ethanolic extracts of Newbouldia laevis and may be associated with the high solubility of their phytochemicals. Generally, the potentials of these plants to produce antidiarrhoegonic components that can be useful for many applications are great and must be better explored. Key words: Antidiarrhoeaganic activity, medicinal plants, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimal bacterial concentration (MBC.)
