TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of sexual harassment on the victims has been proven negative through literature findings, with consequences like health effect including psychological effect been a drawback, acting like a barrier to the ideal development of an individual.
Abstract: Modalities for mitigating Sexual Harassment has been surveyed. The effect of sexual harassment on the victims has been proven negative through literature findings, with consequences like health effect including psychological effect been a drawback, acting like a barrier to the ideal development of an individual. Avoidance of pornographic materials such as movies and book has been pointed-out as one of the measures to be used in mitigating sexual harassment, as this is one of the fuelling factors leading to increasing cases of sexual harassment. Active involvement of mass media has also been pointed-out as yet another remedy for reduction of cases of sexual harassment, with the view that the media covers a large population of people including those living in the rural area where access to school and information is limited. Inclusion of Sex Education into the Nation’s curriculum has been identified as a factor to mitigate the rise in the manse of sexual harassment. Proper dressing (avoiding sensitive body parts revealing clothing) has also been pointed out as a measure to cut-down the rise in cases of sexual harassment. Self-control/alertness to identify and avoid been sexually harass World Scientific News 86(3) (2017) 311-321 -312as been viewed as one of the modalities to be used in the reduction of the act. Conscience building through moral teachings has also been pointed to as a factor to be employed in the mitigation of sexual harassment. Behaviour modelling/effective Guidance and Counselling is one of the factors agreed to be used in the remedy of the rise in act of sexual harassment, this has been proven effective/productive, with the respondents view on its role in conscience building, advice and giving direction to the individual concern. Proper discipline of culprit is another factor identified as a remedy to the rise in cases of sexual harassment, with participants’ views, that this will serve as a guide to prevent others from indulging in the act. Result of the finding presents a view that for sexual harassment mitigation to be effective/productive factors pin-pointed out in this study should be view and implemented in the study area and its environs.

TL;DR: This study revealed that the mean Lobular length and Protrusion at Supra-aurale values are sexually dimorphic at age group of 21–30 while the Auricular length where sexually dimmorphic at 21-30 and 31–40 years age groups with higher values noted in males than in females.
Abstract: Introduction To analyse and document anthropometric parameters of the normal human auricle among Nigerians of Cross River State origin as well as to evaluate sexual dimorphism and auricular growth variation among the age groups of this population. Methods The present study was carried out on 217 adult volunteers made up of 117 females and 100 males, within the age range of 21–60 years; with no evidence of congenital ear anomalies or previous ear surgeries. All subjects were indigenes of Cross River State and were randomly selected across the three senatorial districts of the State. Standard measurement procedures were followed to obtain the following Auricular parameters: Auricular Length (AL), Auricular Width (AW), Lobular Length (LL), Lobular Width (LW), Protrusion at Supra-Aurale (PS) Protrusion at Tragus (PT), Auricular and Lobular Indices. Results This study revealed that the mean Lobular length and Protrusion at Supra-aurale values are sexually dimorphic at age group of 21–30 while the Auricular length where sexually dimorphic at 21–30 and 31–40 years age groups with higher values noted in males than in females. Other parameters measured were not sexually dimorphic. Discussion Standard anthropometric methods where employed in carrying out this study, hence this result is recommended to Plastic Surgeons who may need to rectify any auricular abnormalities involving patients from this ethnic group.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between collection development variables and utilization of information resources in university libraries, south-south, Nigeria and found that there is a significant relationship between awareness, acquisition and utilization.
Abstract: This study investigated the relationship between collection development variables, and utilization of information resources in university libraries, south-south, Nigeria. To achieve the purpose of this study, two research questions were raised and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 16620 students and a sample of 800 respondents was awareness for the study. The awareness was done through the stratified and purposive random sampling technique. The results of the analyses revealed a significant relationship between awareness, acquisition and utilization of information resources. Based on these findings, it was recommended, among others that: Government should prioritize funding for the acquisition of information resources for university libraries

TL;DR: According to Suzanne Labarge, Chief Risk Officer, Royal Bank of Canada, "Risks in itself is not bad, what is bad is risk that is mismanaged, misunderstood, mispriced or unintended" as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: According to Suzanne Labarge, Chief Risk Officer, Royal Bank of Canada. “Risks in itself is not bad, what is bad is risk that is mismanaged, misunderstood, mispriced or unintended”. Managing risk or minimizing risk exposure is increasingly becoming the single most important issue for regulators, financial institutions and investment managers. The art and science of managing risk are more challenging than ever. Risk managers face a wide range of demands, from working with multiple variables to finding technology solutions that generate comprehensive risk analysis. Real-time access to accurate, updated market information is a critical component in the process. Added to this is the impact of so-called “Black Swan” events highly unpredictable, totally unanticipated occurrences with very high adverse impacts on organizations.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the transport and fate of heavy metal entrenchment into the River Nent from abandoned spoil waste at the former mine site and found that the river Nent maintains a circum-neutral pH and contains high concentrations of dissolved zinc (Zn) and lead (Pb) of 0.70mg/l and 0.08 mg/l respectively at flow rate of 34.5l/s.
Abstract: The research investigates the transport and fate of heavy metal entrenchment into the River Nent from abandoned spoil waste at the former mine site. The River Nent is found to maintain a circum-neutral pH and contains high concentrations of dissolved zinc (Zn) and lead (Pb) of 0.70mg/l and 0.08mg/l respectively at flow rate of 34.5l/s. Relative concentration of sulphate and carbonate ions is observed to influence the river pH. This condition has a marked effect on the concentrations of Zn and an insignificant effect on Pb, copper (Cu), cadmium (Cd) and nickel (Ni). A leaching experiment shows that loosely-bound Zn minerals in spoil waste, when entrained into the river, quickly go into solution causing a sudden rise in dissolved Zn concentration. However, some of the dissolved Zn will precipitate further downstream as carbonate, thereby lowering the amount of dissolved zinc in the water column. A similar leaching test also indicates that under acidic condition of ~ pH 5, concentrations of dissolved SZn and Pb in solution will continue to increase with zinc being about 3 times higher than Pb. If pH is maintained for a long time, the concentrations of both metals continue to rise, except enough carbonate is dissolved. This condition was observed not to affect the dissolution of Pb minerals.
