01 Dec 2001TL;DR: This work introduces a method for selectively removing individual values from a database to prevent the discovery of a set of rules, while preserving the data for other applications.
Abstract: Data mining technology has given us new capabilities to identify correlations in large data sets. This introduces risks when the data is to be made public, but the correlations are private. We introduce a method for selectively removing individual values from a database to prevent the discovery of a set of rules, while preserving the data for other applications. The efficacy and complexity of this method are discussed. We also present an experiment showing an example of this methodology.

TL;DR: Clinical patients achieved substantial and clinically meaningful reductions in their OCD and depressive symptoms following EX/RP, which were comparable with those reported in the RCTs.
Abstract: The efficacy of exposure and ritual prevention (EX/RP) for reducing symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) has been demonstrated in several randomized controlled trials (RCTs). However, procedures used in these studies to maximize experimental control may have limited their generalizability to typical clinical practice. Treatment outcome data from 110 clinical patients receiving EX/RP on an outpatient fee-for-service basis were compared with findings from 4 RCTs of EX/RP. Adult patients in the clinical sample were not excluded because of treatment history, concomitant pharmacotherapy, psychiatric comorbidity, age, or OCD severity. Clinical patients achieved substantial and clinically meaningful reductions in their OCD and depressive symptoms following EX/RP, which were comparable with those reported in the RCTs. Findings indicate that EX/RP is a potent treatment for OCD, and its benefits are not limited to select patient samples.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that racial and ethnic disparities in access have been reduced significantly during the initial years of the ACA implementation that expanded access and mandated that individuals obtain health insurance.
Abstract: Objective:To examine racial and ethnic disparities in health care access and utilization after the Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance mandate was fully implemented in 2014.Research Design:Using the 2011–2014 National Health Interview Survey, we examine changes in health care access and utili

TL;DR: This work investigated the electrochemical behavior of 2D vanadium carbide, V2C, from the MXene family, and investigated the mechanism of Na intercalation by XRD and achieved capacitance of ∼100 F/g at 0.2 mV/s.
Abstract: Ion capacitors store energy through intercalation of cations into an electrode at a faster rate than in batteries and within a larger potential window. These devices reach a higher energy density compared to electrochemical double layer capacitor. Li-ion capacitors are already produced commercially, but the development of Na-ion capacitors is hindered by lack of materials that would allow fast intercalation of Na-ions. Here we investigated the electrochemical behavior of 2D vanadium carbide, V2C, from the MXene family. We investigated the mechanism of Na intercalation by XRD and achieved capacitance of ∼100 F/g at 0.2 mV/s. We assembled a full cell with hard carbon as negative electrode, a known anode material for Na ion batteries, and achieved capacity of 50 mAh/g with a maximum cell voltage of 3.5 V.
