TL;DR: Deep learning methods employ multiple processing layers to learn hierarchical representations of data and have produced state-of-the-art results in many domains as mentioned in this paper, such as natural language processing (NLP).
Abstract: Deep learning methods employ multiple processing layers to learn hierarchical representations of data and have produced state-of-the-art results in many domains. Recently, a variety of model designs and methods have blossomed in the context of natural language processing (NLP). In this paper, we review significant deep learning related models and methods that have been employed for numerous NLP tasks and provide a walk-through of their evolution. We also summarize, compare and contrast the various models and put forward a detailed understanding of the past, present and future of deep learning in NLP.

TL;DR: The finding suggests that few-layered MoS₂ nanoplatelets can be useful nonlinear optical material for laser photonics devices, such as passive laser mode locker, Q-switcher, optical limiter, optical switcher and so on.
Abstract: The nonlinear optical property of few-layered MoS2 nanoplatelets synthesized by the hydrothermal exfoliation method was investigated from the visible to the near-infrared band using lasers. Both open-aperture Z-scan and balanced-detector measurement techniques were used to demonstrate the broadband saturable absorption property of few-layered MoS2. To explore its potential applications in ultrafast photonics, we fabricated a passive mode locker for ytterbium-doped fibre laser by depositing few-layered MoS2 onto the end facet of optical fiber by means of an optical trapping approach. Our laser experiment shows that few-layer MoS2-based mode locker allows for the generation of stable mode-locked laser pulse, centered at 1054.3 nm, with a 3-dB spectral bandwidth of 2.7 nm and a pulse duration of 800 ps. Our finding suggests that few-layered MoS2 nanoplatelets can be useful nonlinear optical material for laser photonics devices, such as passive laser mode locker, Q-switcher, optical limiter, optical switcher and so on.

TL;DR: In this article, a microstrip-line ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter is proposed and implemented using a multiplemode resonator (MMR), aiming at transmitting the signals in the whole UWB passband of 3.1-10.6GHz.
Abstract: A novel microstrip-line ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter is proposed and implemented using a multiple-mode resonator (MMR), aiming at transmitting the signals in the whole UWB passband of 3.1-10.6GHz. In the design, the first three resonant frequencies of this MMR are properly adjusted to be placed quasiequally within the UWB. Then, the parallel-coupled lines at the two sides are longitudinally stretched so as to raise the frequency-dispersive coupling degree with the coupling peak near the center of the UWB. After optimization of this filter, a good UWB bandpass behavior with five transmission poles is theoretically realized and experimentally confirmed. Within the whole UWB passband, the return loss is found higher than 10dB, and the group delay variation is less than 0.23ns.

TL;DR: The stretchable graphene nanopaper is demonstrated for efficient human-motion detection applications and is fabricated for strain-sensor applications.
Abstract: Highly stretchable graphene-nanocellulose composite nanopaper is fabricated for strain-sensor applications. Three-dimensional macroporous nanopaper from crumpled graphene and nanocellulose is embedded in elastomer matrix to achieve stretchability up to 100%. The stretchable graphene nanopaper is demonstrated for efficient human-motion detection applications.
