Abstract: A psoriatic arthritis (PsA) module was convened at OMERACT 8 in order to achieve consensus on the core domains that should be included in randomized controlled trials and longitudinal observational cohorts of subjects with PsA. Following a plenary session at which current status of measures used to assess PsA were reviewed, and discussion at breakout groups, the group achieved consensus on 6 core domains: peripheral joint activity, skin activity, pain, patient global assessment, physical function, and health-related quality of life. In addition the following domains were considered important but not mandatory: spinal disease, dactylitis, enthesitis, fatigue, nail disease, radiography, physician global assessment, and acute-phase reactants. A research agenda was proposed to include development and validation of instruments for the domains where none existed, and in particular further research was recommended for the following areas: magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound of joints, enthesitis, skin and synovial tissue analysis, and "participation."

Abstract: Background
Hypovitaminosis D has been recently recognized as a worldwide epidemic. Since vitamin D exerts significant metabolic activities, comprising free fatty acids (FFA) flux regulation from the periphery to the liver, its deficiency may promote fat deposition into the hepatocytes. Aim of our study was to test the hypothesis of a direct association between hypovitaminosis D and the presence of NAFLD in subjects with various degree of insulin-resistance and related metabolic disorders.

Abstract: The necessity for flexible electric systems, changing regulatory and economic scenarios, energy savings and environmental impact are providing impetus to the development of distributed generation (DG), which is predicted to play an increasing role in the electric power system of the future. With so much new distributed generation being installed, it is critical that the power system impacts be assessed accurately so that DG can be applied in a manner that avoids causing degradation of power quality, reliability and control of the utility system. For these reasons, the paper proposes a new software procedure, based on a genetic algorithm, capable of establishing the optimal distributed generation allocation on an existing MV distribution network, considering all the technical constraints, like feeder capacity limits, feeder voltage profile and three-phase short circuit current in the network nodes.

Abstract: The ALICE measurement of K^0_S and {\Lambda} production at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 2.76 TeV is presented. The transverse momentum (pT) spectra are shown for several collision centrality intervals and in the pT range from 0.4 GeV/c (0.6 GeV/c for {\Lambda}) to 12 GeV/c. The pT dependence of the {\Lambda}/K^0_S ratios exhibits maxima in the vicinity of 3 GeV/c, and the positions of the maxima shift towards higher pT with increasing collision centrality. The magnitude of these maxima increases by almost a factor of three between most peripheral and most central Pb-Pb collisions. This baryon excess at intermediate pT is not observed in pp interactions at sqrt(s) = 0.9 TeV and at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. Qualitatively, the baryon enhancement in heavy-ion collisions is expected from radial flow. However, the measured pT spectra above 2 GeV/c progressively decouple from hydrodynamical-model calculations. For higher values of pT, models that incorporate the influence of the medium on the fragmentation and hadronization processes describe qualitatively the pT dependence of the {\Lambda}/K^0_S ratio.
