TLDR
The revised guidelines for the management of thyroid disease in pregnancy include recommendations regarding the interpretation of thyroid function tests in pregnancy, iodine nutrition, thyroid autoantibodies and pregnancy complications, thyroid considerations in infertile women, hypothyroidism in pregnancy and thyrotoxicosis in pregnancy.

Subclinical thyroid disease

TL;DR: The definition, epidemiology, differential diagnoses, risks of progression to overt thyroid disease, potential effects on various health outcomes, and management of subclinical hyperthyroidism and subclinical hypothyroidism are discussed.

Effect of inadequate iodine status in UK pregnant women on cognitive outcomes in their children: results from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC)

TL;DR: The results show the importance of adequate iodine status during early gestation and emphasise the risk that iodine deficiency can pose to the developing infant, even in a country classified as only mildly iodine deficient.

Maternal thyroid hormones during pregnancy, childhood adiposity and cardiovascular risk factors: The Generation R Study

TL;DR: Variation in maternal thyroid function during early pregnancy may permanently affect childhood growth and cardiovascular development and associations with childhood growth, body composition and cardiovascular characteristics are examined.

Does the Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone Measured Concurrently With First Trimester Biochemical Screening Tests Predict Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes Occurring After 20 Weeks Gestation?

TL;DR: Testing maternal TSH as part of first trimester screening does not predict adverse pregnancy outcomes, which may be because in the community setting, mainly mild abnormalities in thyroid function are detected.

Effect of antithyroid antibodies on ICSI outcome in antiphospholipid antibody-negative euthyroid women

TL;DR: The presence of antithyroid antibodies in euthyroid and antiphospholipid antibody-negative women was not found to significantly affect the outcome of ICSI-embryo transfer cycles, and the role of ATA in IVF cycles remains to be investigated.

Reduction of mammary and liver lipogenesis and alteration of milk composition during lactation in rats by hypothyroidism.

TL;DR: HypoT produces a drastic decrease in milk TGs; the main cause seems to be the decreases in liver TG synthesis and in circulating TGs, which, along with reduced mammary uptake of fatty acids caused by decreased LPL expression and possibly diminished mammary lipogenesis, result in an impaired mammary output of TGs to the milk.

Thyroxine treatment may be useful for subclinical hypothyroidism in patients with female infertility.

TL;DR: High successful pregnancy rate and shorter duration of infertility until pregnancy after T4 treatment strongly suggest that T4 enhanced fertility in infertile patients with SCH.
