This book while furnishing ample directions for the analysis of experimental works also stresses the descriptive and analytical statistical study of biological phenomena. It is intended both as a text to accompany a lecture course and as a complete course for self-study. TL;DR: The results showed that large plant patches created larger sheltered soil fertility islands than small patches and the density and the spatial segregation of the sexes of P. ligularis also increased, resulting in biased habitat-specific sex ratios, and the reduction of patch size limits the available microsites, biases the sex ratio towards males inside patches, increases inter- and intra-sexual competition, and it might be expected to decrease overall seed and pollen production and consequently potential recruitment.

Variety-specific response of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaf mitochondria to drought stress.
TL;DR: Examination of leaf respiratory responses to dehydration and subsequent recovery in three varieties of winter wheat known to differ in their level of drought tolerance found that mitochondria from drought-sensitive genotypes had low oxidative phosphorylation efficiency after dehydration and rewatering, whereas the drought-tolerant Katya mitochondria showed higher phosphorylated rates.
