Regulation of redox homeostasis in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Glen L. Wheeler,Chris M. Grant +1 more
TL;DR: This review describes recent findings made in yeast that are leading to a better understanding of the regulation and role of redox homeostasis in eukaryotic cell metabolism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence of mitochondrial dysfunction in broilers with pulmonary hypertension syndrome (Ascites): effect of t-butyl hydroperoxide on hepatic mitochondrial function, glutathione, and related thiols
TL;DR: The results indicate that P HS mitochondria do not lack antioxidant protection from GSH, but lower RCR and ADP:O ratios in PHS mitochondria indicate a dysfunction that may contribute to the pathophysiology of this metabolic disease in broilers.

Mediators of Physical Activity Protection against ROS-Linked Skeletal Muscle Damage.
TL;DR: To elucidate the complex role of ROS in exercise, the literature dealing on sources of ROS production and concerning the most important redox signaling pathways are reviewed, including MAPKs that are involved in the responses to acute and chronic exercise in the muscle, particularly those involving in the induction of antioxidant enzymes.

Antioxidant defenses at transcriptional and enzymatic levels and gene expression of Nrf2-Keap1 signaling molecules in response to acute zinc exposure in the spleen of the large yellow croaker Pseudosciaena crocea.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that Zn-induced antioxidant defenses were involved in modifications at enzymatic and transcriptional levels and the transcriptional regulation of the Nrf2-Keap1 signaling molecule; these results may contribute to the understanding of mechanisms that maintain the correct redox balance in the immune organ of the large yellow croaker.

Free radical scavenging capacity and antioxidant enzyme activity in deerberry (Vaccinium stamineum L.)
TL;DR: In this article, three genotypes (B-76, B-59 and SHF-3A) of deerberry were evaluated for fruit quality, total anthocyanin and phenolic contents, antioxidants, antioxidant capacity, and antioxidant enzyme activity.
