Emerging Roles of Ganoderma Lucidum in Anti-Aging
TL;DR: This review aims to lay the ground for fully elucidating the potential mechanisms of Ganoderma lucidum underlying anti-aging effect and its clinical application.

CYP17, GSTP1, PON1 and GLO1 gene polymorphisms as risk factors for breast cancer: an Italian case-control study
Cinzia Antognelli,Chiara Del Buono,Vienna Ludovini,Stefania Gori,Vincenzo Nicola Talesa,Lucio Crinò,Francesco Barberini,Antonio Rulli +7 more
TL;DR: Genetic polymorphisms in biotransformation enzymes CYP17, GSTP1, PON1 and GLO1 could be associated with the risk for breast cancer, although significances did not withstand correction for multiple testing.

Protective effect of black tea extract on the levels of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzymes in liver of mice with pesticide-induced liver injury.
TL;DR: The data offer support for the claim that the central mechanism of pesticide action occurs via changes in cellular oxidative status and shows conclusively that supplementation with black tea extract protects against the free radical‐mediated oxidative stress in hepatocytes of animals with pesticide‐induced liver injury.

Molecular exploration of age-related NF-κB/IKK downregulation by calorie restriction in rat kidney
TL;DR: It is shown that age-related oxidative stress may be a primary cause of up-regulated and altered NF-kappaB activity in aged kidney, and that the anti-oxidative action of CR is a major force responsible for the maintenance of a properly functioning NF- kappaB/IkappB-IKK signaling pathway, which might be involved in CR's life-prolonging action.

Role of a copper-specific metallothionein of the blue crab, Callinectes sapidus, in copper metabolism associated with degradation and synthesis of hemocyanin.
TL;DR: The hypothesis that the copper-specific metallothionein is intricately involved in copper homeostasis associated with both the synthesis and degradation of hemocyanin is supported.
