TLDR
The outcomes of CAD surgical treatment were improved in this group of patients due to the implementation of a mul-assisted revascularization of coronary and non-coronary arteries.Abstract:
Results. The incidence rate of significant non-cardiac occlusive stenotic lesions in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), who had to undergo CABG, was 15,84 %. Simultaneous revascularization of coronary and non-coronary arteries was performed in 2,46 % of patients with CAD and PolyVD and multi-stage surgical proced ures were chosen in other cases. Conclusions. The outcomes of CAD surgical treatment were improved in this group of patients due to the implementation of a mul-read more

The TRPM ion channel subfamily: molecular, biophysical and functional features
Andrea Fleig,Reinhold Penner +1 more
TL;DR: The diverse functional properties of TRPM channels have a profound effect on the regulation of ion homoeostasis by mediating direct influx of Ca2+, controlling Mg2+ entry, and determining the potential of the cell membrane.

Comorbid Illness is Associated with Survival and Length of Hospital Stay in Patients with Chronic Disability A Prospective Comparison of Three Comorbidity Indices
Paula A. Rochon,Jeffrey N. Katz,Linda Morrow,Regina McGlinchey-Berroth,Margaret M. Ahlquist,Medhi Sarkarati,Kenneth L. Minaker +6 more
TL;DR: This study is among the first to compare three different measures of comorbidity and documents that comor bidity provides more information than knowing only the patient's age in relation to survival and length of hospital stay.

Modulation of synapse formation by cyclic adenosine monophosphate
Marshall W. Nirenberg,Samuel H. Wilson,Haruhiro Higashida,Andrej Rotter,K. Krueger,Neil A. Busis,Radharaman Ray,James G. Kenimer,Michael Adler +8 more
TL;DR: The results show that cyclic AMP regulates synaptogenesis by regulating the expression of voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channels, and suggest that cycling AMP affects posttranslational modifications of some glycoproteins and cellular levels of certain proteins.

Poly(A) Tail Length Control in Saccharomyces cerevisiae Occurs by Message-Specific Deadenylation
Christine E. Brown,Alan B. Sachs +1 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided for an initial phase of mRNA deadenylation that is required for poly(A) tail length control in vivo, and a model whereby mRNAs are polyadenylated by the 3′-end processing machinery with a long tail, possibly of default length, and then in a PAN-dependent manner, the poly (A) tails are rapidly matured to a message-specific length is supported.

Detailed analysis of p53 pathway defects in fludarabine-refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL): dissecting the contribution of 17p deletion, TP53 mutation, p53-p21 dysfunction, and miR34a in a prospective clinical trial.
Thorsten Zenz,Sonja Häbe,Tina Denzel,Julia Mohr,Dirk Winkler,Andreas Bühler,Antonio Sarno,Silja Groner,Daniel Mertens,Raymonde Busch,Michael Hallek,Hartmut Döhner,Stephan Stilgenbauer +12 more
TL;DR: Although TP53 mutations and 17p deletions are found in a high proportion of F-refractory CLL, more than half of the cases cannot be explained by p53 defects (deletion or mutation), and alternative mechanisms need to be investigated.
