The outcomes of CAD surgical treatment were improved in this group of patients due to the implementation of a mul-assisted revascularization of coronary and non-coronary arteries.
Abstract
Results. The incidence rate of significant non-cardiac occlusive stenotic lesions in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), who had to undergo CABG, was 15,84 %. Simultaneous revascularization of coronary and non-coronary arteries was performed in 2,46 % of patients with CAD and PolyVD and multi-stage surgical proced ures were chosen in other cases. Conclusions. The outcomes of CAD surgical treatment were improved in this group of patients due to the implementation of a mul-

Genome-wide association defines more than 30 distinct susceptibility loci for Crohn's disease

Jeffrey C. Barrett, +62 more
- 01 Aug 2008 -
TL;DR: The results strongly confirm 11 previously reported loci and provide genome-wide significant evidence for 21 additional loci, including the regions containing STAT3, JAK2, ICOSLG, CDKAL1 and ITLN1, which offer promise for informed therapeutic development.

The use of a plus-maze to measure anxiety in the mouse

TL;DR: The plus-maze appears to be a useful test with which to investigate both anxiolytic and anxiogenic agents.

Mechanisms of gene silencing by double-stranded RNA

TL;DR: A key step in known silencing pathways is the processing of dsRNAs into short RNA duplexes of characteristic size and structure, which guide RNA silencing by specific and distinct mechanisms.

Beyond Diathesis Stress: Differential Susceptibility to Environmental Influences.

TL;DR: Evidence consistent with the proposition that individuals differ in plasticity is reviewed, and multiple instances in which specific genes function less like "vulnerability factors" and more like "plasticity factors," thereby rendering some individuals more malleable or susceptible than others to both negative and positive environmental influences.

Rational siRNA design for RNA interference

TL;DR: Application of an algorithm incorporating all eight characteristics associated with siRNA functionality significantly improves potent siRNA selection and highlights the utility of rational design for selecting potent siRNAs and facilitating functional gene knockdown studies.
