TLDR
A group of international experts came together through a joint initiative by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to create a standardized international terminology with which to describe acquired resistance profiles in Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus spp.About:

Using the number needed to treat to assess appropriate antimicrobial therapy as a determinant of outcome in severe sepsis and septic shock.
Cristina Vazquez-Guillamet,Michael Scolari,Marya D. Zilberberg,Andrew F. Shorr,Scott T. Micek,Marin H. Kollef +5 more
TL;DR: The results support the importance of appropriate antimicrobial treatment as a determinant of outcome in patients with severe sepsis and septic shock and suggest improved targeting of empiric antimicrobials for multidrug-resistant bacteria, Candida species, methicillin-resistant S. aureus, and P. aeruginosa would have the greatest impact in reducing mortality.

Inappropriate Empirical Antibiotic Treatment in High-risk Neutropenic Patients With Bacteremia in the Era of Multidrug Resistance.

TL;DR: IEAT is frequent in high-risk patients with FN and BSI, despite high adherence to guidelines, and primarily impacts patients with P. aeruginosa-related BSI mortality and in turn is the only modifiable factor to improve outcomes.

Towards Advances in Medicinal Plant Antimicrobial Activity: A Review Study on Challenges and Future Perspectives.
TL;DR: In this article, a review of the antimicrobial activity of plant-derived components, their possible mechanisms of action, as well as their chemical potential, is presented, where the focus is put on the current challenges and future perspectives surrounding medicinal plants antimicrobial efficacy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibiotic resistance and prevalence of class 1 and 2 integrons in Escherichia coli isolated from two wastewater treatment plants, and their receiving waters (Gulf of Gdansk, Baltic Sea, Poland)
Ewa Kotlarska,Aneta Łuczkiewicz,Marta Pisowacka,Artur Burzyński,Artur Burzyński,Artur Burzyński +5 more
TL;DR: The presence of integrons was associated with increased frequency of resistance to fluoroquinolones, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, isolates resistant to at least one antimicrobial agent, and presence of multidrug-resistance phenotype.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevention and Control of Multidrug-Resistant Gram-Negative Bacteria in Adult Intensive Care Units: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-analysis.

TL;DR: A 4-component strategy was the most effective intervention to prevent MDR-GNB acquisition and as some strategies were differential for certain bacteria, this study highlighted the need for further evaluation of the mosteffective prevention strategies.
