Powder flow behavior governed by the surface properties of glass beads
Shirin Enferad,Salvatore Pillitteri,Geoffroy Lumay,Claire Gaiani,Sébastien Kiesgen de Richter,Michaël Marck,Syrym Umbetov,Nicolas Vandewalle,Mathieu Jenny +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a chemical treatment was performed on hydrophobic glass beads and its bulk behavior has been compared with raw glass beads depending on the humidity, and the influence of the electrostatic charges was an undeniable factor in increasing the viscosity of hydrophilic glass beads.
On the continuum modelling of segregation of granular mixtures during hopper emptying in core flow mode
TL;DR: In this article, the application of a continuum model is presented, which deals with the discharge of multi-component granular mixtures in core flow mode, and the full model description is given (including the constitutive models for the segregation mechanism) and the interactions between particles at the microscopic level are parametrised in order to predict the development of stagnant zone boundaries during core flow discharges.
Book ChapterDOI
Spannungen im Schüttgut
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that in Siloschaft vollig and other Spannungsverlaufe als im Trichter, bei dem ein Unterschied zwischen einem gerade eingefullten Schuttgut and einem schon einmal im trichter nach unten geflossenen Schutt gut besteht.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of gate loads related to stress states in mass-flow bins during bulk solids filling and settlement
TL;DR: In this article, an analytical review of gate loads is combined with an experimental study employing a pilot mass-flow bin handling iron ore and plastic pellets, where the transient load changes due to the time-dependent settling of the bulk solid are investigated.
