Finite element analysis for displacements and stresses developed over horizontally corrugated steel silo wall panels.

TL;DR: In this article, a finite element analysis approach was used to investigate the displacements and bending stresses exerted by shelled corn on a wall configuration made of folded steel plates, and the results showed that the highest bending stresses occurred at the corner of each wall panel with greater bending stresses occurring around the tie bars.

A kinematic model for powder mixing in mass flow discharge from a conical hopper

TL;DR: In this article, a model based on the conservation of volume of the powder and a kinematic model for the velocity profile is proposed to estimate mixing parameters, and an equilibrium solution is derived for the specific case of an inflow which is disposed in homogeneous horizontal layers as it enters the storage bin.

Flow Properties of Ficus Deltoidea Extract Powder and the Binders, Acdisol and Avicel

TL;DR: In this paper, a Jenike shear tester was used to measure the flow properties of the powder particle, such as the effective angle of internal friction, flow function and the angle of wall friction.

Experimental determination of friction coefficient and mobilization force in granular material packed in a cylinder

TL;DR: In this paper, the Coulomb's friction coefficient between the granular material and the wall of the housing cylinder and the friction mobilization force is measured in the case of a cylindrical container filled with granular materials.

Artificial Neural Network Modeling of Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) Flowability with Varying Process and Storage Parameters

TL;DR: In this article, neural network (NN) models were used to predict flowability behavior of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) prepared with varying levels of condensed distillation soluble (10, 15, and 20%, wb), drying temperatures (100, 200, and 300°C), cooling temperatures (12, 25, and 35°C).
