Journal ArticleDOI
Process development for the catalytic conversion of cyclohexene oxide and carbon dioxide into poly(cyclohexene carbonate)
TL;DR: In this paper, a preliminary process design has been made for the catalytic conversion of cyclohexene oxide and carbon dioxide into poly(cycloehexene carbonate) and the economic evaluation indicates that the required selling price of PCHC is intermediate to the market price of engineering and specialty polymers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde over Pt/RHCs in supercritical carbon dioxide – Influence of support pretreatment and phase behavior
TL;DR: In this paper, a rice husk-based porous carbon (RHCs) supported platinum catalysts in supercritical carbon dioxide (SCCO2) were used for the selective hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde (CAL).
Journal ArticleDOI
A catalytic reactor for the trapping of free radicals from gas phase oxidation reactions
TL;DR: A catalytic reactor for the trapping of free radicals originating from gas phase catalytic reactions is described and discussed and the efficiency of the reactor was finally proven by the partial oxidation of cyclohexane over MoO (3), Cr(2)O(3), and WO( 3), which allowed the identification of all the radical intermediates responsible for the formation of the products cyclo Hexanol and cyclo hexanone.
Journal ArticleDOI
An exceptionally rapid and selective hydrogenation of 2-cyclohexen-1-one in supercritical carbon dioxide.
TL;DR: Selective hydrogenation of 2-cyclohexen-1-one over Pt-MCM-41 proceeds at a very high rate and produces cyclohexanone with selectivity of 100% in a batch reactor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Supercritical nitrogen processing for the purification of reactive porous materials.
TL;DR: Nitrogen is presented as a novel supercritical drying fluid for specialized applications such as in the processing of reactive porous materials, where carbon dioxide and other fluids are not appropriate due to their higher chemical reactivity.

Aerogels-Airy Materials: Chemistry, Structure, and Properties.
Nicola Hüsing,Ulrich S. Schubert +1 more
TL;DR: The design of such a filigrane network requires the very careful control of chemical parameters and the reward is an assortment of different property profiles owing to the richness of possible variations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structures of metal sites of oxidized bovine heart cytochrome c oxidase at 2.8 A
Tomitake Tsukihara,Hiroshi Aoyama,Eiki Yamashita,Takashi Tomizaki,Hiroshi Yamaguchi,Kyoko Shinzawa-Itoh,Ryosuke Nakashima,Rieko Yaono,Shinya Yoshikawa +8 more
TL;DR: The high resolution three-dimensional x-ray structure of the metal sites of bovine heart cytochrome c oxidase is reported, suggesting a dinuclear copper center with an unexpected structure similar to a [2Fe-2S]-type iron-sulfur center.
Journal ArticleDOI
Homogeneous Hydrogenation of Carbon Dioxide
TL;DR: In this article, the simplest and most studied reactions of CO{sub 2} are the catalytic reactions with H{sub 1} in the presence or absence of other reactive species.

Reactions at supercritical conditions: Applications and fundamentals
TL;DR: A review of chemical reactions in and with supercritical fluids can be found in this paper, where the authors discuss both fundamental studies and applications of reactions at supercritical conditions, with focus on work published after 1985.
